We absolutely LOVED this place. It’s…
Rowan shepherd's hut
Liked We absolutely LOVED this place. It’s super well maintained, super cute and they have the sweetest goats ever!! And the night sky is amazing on a clear day with very little light pollution.
We loved the honestly shop - we got some marshmallows from there and I loved that you could donate to plant a tree too.
The owners were really lovely too.
There’s an option where you can ask to be shown around the farm too to learn about how they run it. We didn’t do this due to lack of time, but for sure would do when we return!

Highly recommend. Quiet and owners have thought of everything.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Quirky and cool! I loved everything about Shepherds Rest. The pitches are lovely and spacious and Alison (the owner) strictly enforces the quiet times of 10pm-8am and as a result the whole campsite becomes silent and I had some of my best camping sleeps ever. Everything about the site is designed to be low impact on the environment but that doesn’t mean basic. 2 lots of immaculate toilets (one set housed in quirky sheds) and 2 pristine shower sheds. There’s also an indoor camp kitchen with cutlery, mugs, tea, coffee etc an eco-kettle and microwave. There’s also a hairdryer. There’s a huge barn for the use of campers with tables, chairs, charging points (or secure charging lockers) and a small honesty box with a few basics. There’s a freezer for freezing ice blocks, books, board games and lots of local info.
There’s also a cool drying horse box - a real bonus for drying towels etc.
The area has so much to offer - I’d recommend St Abbs Nature Reserve, walking some of the coastal path - we did St Abbs to Eyemouth (bus back). Coldingham beach. The fish and chips in Eyemouth and last but not least Berwick Upon Tweed.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked De ruime kampeerplek. Goede (warm) watervoorziening. Douche. Kampeer keukentje met waterkoker
Disliked De toiletten zijn idyllisch, maar het openen en sluiten maakt erg veel lawaai. Daar wordt je de hele nacht wakker van als je een plek hebt nabij de toiletten

Alison and Mark are lovely and have a great campsite.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We recently camped 4 days at Shepherd's Rest campsite in Foulden, the location was great, within short driving distance of several towns and beaches. The campsite was lovely, toilets, showers, kitchen and lounge areas provided were clean and lots of handy items provided, microwave and kettle tea, coffee and sugar in the kitchen area, in the lounge freezer for coldpacs and charging points ( came in very handy) also snacks that could be microwaved or hot water added at reasonable prices and a place to hang out in bad weather! Alison and Mark are on site every day taking the goats from shed to field and are very friendly and approachable. We really liked the campsite it was quiet and relaxing and being able to hire fire pit was an added bonus. We would happily come back, maybe even treat ourselves to a stay in one of their Shepherd's huts or large tents !
Disliked Nothing.
