Beautiful weather this weekend
Stunning views close to peebles town centre.
Back to nature, close to town
Nice pitch and patio area

  • Dog-friendly 50-acre site in the grounds of a Georgian mansion
  • Spectacular views towards the Venlaw hills
  • On the edge of Peebles and near the river Tweed
Peeps and their pooches – you should come to Rosetta Holiday Park. As it's a sure bet you'll find something to feast your eyes on round these parts, whether that’s the 50 miles of mountain bike trails at Glentress Forest or piles of lovely wares in town… Peebles has lots of artsy attractions and several festivals. Nearby, the river Tweed is internationally famous for salmon fishing too: the Peebles town motto and crest even has three salmon a-leaping up the water. All in all, rather fab. Right on the edge of Peebles, Rosetta Holiday Park is an attentively manicured site which welcomes families and dogs. It's set over 50 acres with spectacular views towards the Venlaw Hills, so it's a feast for your eyes.

Liked: The site was very quiet and peaceful. It's a well manicured site with pretty easy access to the plots. Showers worked fine and dandy and so easy to walk in to Peebles too.

Disliked: Toilet block and grey water drainage areas really need some tlc. They are fine and work well but very dated.

Liked: 15 mins from Peebles, quiet site.

Disliked: Its run down theres a lot of pitches out of order as the electric hook ups are wrapped in polythene and have not been repaired. 2 toilet blocks with 2 showers in each. Have to put in a 5 digit code to enter but the water was not very hot. You wash your dishes in the shower/toilet block! Not outside! On arrival I was told just to pick a spot! I was told take any from 60 or 40 odd just help your self!
Theres water/disposal points which are stinking if you park near really awful.
I dont think the toilet disposal should be near vans or the same place as fresh water? It was never checked or cleaned and the spill/smell was dreadful. Parts of the site user are crammed in not much space between users. No facilities at all for kids no play park or swings. No WI-FI! Pitches can be very steep! To walk out the pedestrian bridge is broken and barriered off you have to walk around it. Takes about 15 mins to walk into town. Id say someone needs to do a complete refurbish of the place and get it up to a decent standard. It could be a good site with some TLC and better facilities.

From the manager: You arrived on the Saturday of a busy bank holiday weekend, So most of the pitches were gone, I told you the areas where there was plenty of room. The pitches are not out of order, As explained when you checked in, The areas with the electric boxes covered were the ones that had very soft ground and we don't want the grass tore up and people getting stuck.
The toilet blocks have very hot water, We have lots of guests who are happy with them and it is constant hot water with no timer. We have two blocks, With 2 male showers and 2 female showers in each block. We have washing up areas in all 4 areas inside, As to wash up outside in the rain or cold is not realistic, you had the option to wash up in your own accommodation if this was a problem for you.
The waste disposal points are flushed every morning and we cannot control what people put down them, Or the fact that people don't rinse them after use, They are also in a separate area surrounded by a wall from the water points,
We also told you on check in that we do not assign pitches as a lot of people don't want those pitches and prefer to pick their own. The parts of the park that were crowded is because for some reason, Everyone likes to congregate near other guests especially families and friends. Pitch Up is very clear on what facilities we have and don't have including wifi There are parks very close by for families. A lot of your points are factually incorrect and unfair. The bridge is barriered off as it became a hazard and the other side there is a walk way.
Maybe read what parks have and don't have before booking would be helpful for you in the future.

Liked: Beautiful location plenty trees, interesting history on site
10min walk into peebles / Tesco 7min
Warden phone number / supervision on site, reassuring
Toilet block was fine, 2 showers

Disliked: Having the leaflet read to me, I understand etiquette as not first trip. Despite these, family were allowed to arrive 9pm, pitched up next to us then preceded to erect awning.
Not many pitches so bit busy.
Wasn't sure on pitch layout eg numbered electric boxes
Next to residential road / houses
1 dog bin

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review, If you had told us when you checked in that it wasn't your first visit, We wouldn't have gone through the welcome leaflet with you. We have to point out certain things in the leaflet and don't read it all, Things that are important we need to make clear, Like the code for the toilet blocks, where the dog walk is, and other information. WE have to do this as the amount of guests who do not read it and then say 'oh i never read it' is why.
If this wasn't your first trip then the numbered electric boxes have not changed, They are the pitch numbers on the bases as they have always been.

The family you are referring to was an exceptional circumstance, They were allowed to check in as they were stuck for hours and traumatised following a bad accident.

We have one dog bin, We do not charge for dogs and the bins are emptied daily or every other day depending on guests.

We were busy as it was a bank holiday weekend, We have plenty of pitches as a rule, But as with most parks, I am sure they were all busy over the bank holiday.

Local attractions

One of the many highlights of the Scottish Borders is that, while the region is rightly popular with savvy holidaymakers, it remains off the mass tourist track so you can gleefully pursue your pastimes without areas becoming overcrowded. Fishing is one of the most popular pursuits in the area is because of Peebles’ proximity to the River Tweed, on the top scale of salmon fishing rivers in the world. Go out on your own with your rod licence or bag a trip/course from one of the many local angling centres nearby; the Tweed and its tributaries yield wild trout and grayling too. Elsewhere in the area, anglers have acres of lochs for coarse fishing and the Berwickshire coast nearby for sea angling – and views – off Eyemouth, Burmouth and St Abbs. The mountain bike trails of Glentress Forest, three miles away, are another big draw for active visitors – the Tweed Bike Festival is held here in May and June and Glentress/Innerleithen are part of the world famous 7stanes mountain biking trails. The award-winning centre at Glentress has trails of all grades and a most modern visitor centre with bike wash, bike hire and a bike shop. The Tweed Love Bike Festival is held at Peebles in early summer, but if you miss it/aren’t a mountain biker, several other festivals cover several other tastes such as arts, jazz, food, Highland Games, Rugby Sevens and the traditional week-long Beltane Festival. Dramatic highlights like shows at the Eastgate can be had at any time of the year, as can sampling fresh local produce in the town’s hotels and restaurants, park and river walks by the Tweed and the prerequisite till-ringing at the Old Town and School Brae. As well as Peebles, the Borders has plenty of other characterful towns to seek out such as Selkirk, Jedburgh, Galashiels and the Borders’ biggest town Hawick; those looking for even brighter lights can make their way to Edinburgh, just 20 miles away.
