Wonderfully friendly staff at this scenic site
Hattie's Hideaway primitive grass tent campsite (Private restroom amenities, five person)
Liked We loved everything about this site. The ability to pick a pitch with a hard standing kitchen and a private toilet took away a load of stress. The honesty shop of food staples was a great idea, and although we didn’t use it, knowing it was there was great.
The staff/owner were welcoming and friendly, always stopping to chat and giving suggestions of places to visit. Toilets were kept lovely and clean, along with the whole site.
The site itself is well situated for exploring the Scottish Lowlands and neighbouring Northumberland, with Holy Island only an hours drive away

Exceeded all expectations
Poppy's primitive grass tent campsite (two person)
Liked We absolutely couldn’t fault our stay. Pitches are really well spaced so we were able to say hi to our neighbours and be polite but still have privacy. The site is beautiful with some surprising amenities such as a covered seat for a glass of wine (under construction). There is a stock of items such as ketchup, pesto, fire logs and the such which can be picked up and paid for at the end of your stay. We booked this site as it was a well placed stopover for onward travels, but next year it will be a holiday spot!!

Woodland Wonder primitive grass and earth tent campsite (six person, woodland, pet friendly)
Liked Everything. Beautiful scenery. Amazing campsite. Alpacas were gorgeous. Felt very much out in the wilderness as you went down miles of lanes to reach it. We had the dog section which was perched on a slight hill in the trees. Was honoured to see cold tits and jackdaws feeding there chicks. Owners were amazing. Very polite and chatty and bent over backwards to try to sort any problems that occurred for us.
Disliked Not a dislike as such but very unfair that I was the only one eaten by the few midges that are rarely there. It had to be me 😃
