  • Adults-only cabins with views over the Scottish countryside
  • A 15-minute drive from Loch Leven; 10 minutes to the Ochil Hills
  • Personal woodfired hot tub, firepit and barbecue; firewood provisions
Soak up views of the Scottish countryside from your personal log-fired hot tub? Oh, go on then… there are complimentary bubbles to welcome you to the adults-only Fossoway Cabins in Clackmannanshire, 15 minutes’ drive from Loch Leven and 25 minutes from the edge of the Lomond Hills. After a day of golfing, touring whisky distilleries or hiking in hills, guests can get in some stargazing too, since each pod has private use of a hot tub. After a contactless check-in (the same goes for check-out), beeline straight for the welcome hamper, which is packed with locally-sourced, specialty artisan food and bevs. Firewood is provided (along with firelighters) and there’s extra firewood and charcoal available to purchase on site if you need it (note that you’re not permitted to bring your own). The open-plan living area is kitted out with a smart TV and wifi for a comfort film or boxset. There are USB sockets for charging gadgets and luxury bedding, bathrobes, towels and complimentary Scottish fine soaps provided. Outside features include a private parking space, a paved area with outdoor seating and (to put that firewood and charcoal to use) an individually designed firepit and barbecue. When you’re not busy pampering yourself, there’s a 20-minute walk to the narrow gorge in Rumbling Bridge or road cycling and mountain biking routes that start directly from the site. The owners themselves are keen cyclists, so they’ll be very happy to recommend some routes. Of course, hiking is splendid in these parts too and top spots include the Ochil Hills (10 minutes), the Lomond Hills (25 minutes) and the 13-mile Loch Leven Heritage Trail (15 minutes).

Camping pod (no pets)

Liked: We loved our stay at fossaway cabins! Everything was so clean and well thought out, as soon as we thought of something we might want (cards, marshmallows, etc) for the perfect barbecue evening, we found it. The place is in such a pretty location and a great spot not too far from Stirling. Leigh was super helpful.
