  • Luxury lodges in the Perthshire countryside between Perth and Dundee
  • Gleneagles and Carnoustie golf course within a 40-minute drive
  • Dog-friendly accommodation with hot tub and fully equipped kitchen
How about living a life of luxury in the Scottish countryside (at least for a little while…)? The self-catering accommodation at Milton Farm Lodges is part of a working farm in the Perthshire hills, and it’s top-level stylish and comfortable. This is a place where you can afford to put only minimal effort into your packing, as so much is provided for you: bed linen, towels and toiletries are all in place, along with lots of other handy things like dishwasher tablets. There are barbecue facilities if you fancy making the most of the stunning scenery, and each lodge also has a fully equipped kitchen (with fridge freezer, washing machine, oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, cooking utensils… the works…) Everything here is designed to make life as luxurious as possible – the open-plan lodges have been thoughtfully furnished and kitted out with comfortable beds, a bathroom (yes, with a proper bath…) and large sofas to sprawl out on after a day of exploring the area. And that’s not even mentioning the real highlight: your own private hot tub for evenings spent bubbling away while the sun sets and the stars come out overhead. And how might you fill your days up until that time comes around? Well, this spot just outside the hamlet of Abernyte is in a handy location for all sorts of days out, from visiting the museums in Dundee to trying out the local golf courses to catching theatre shows in Perth. Dogs are welcome to join you on a break here, and the team can provide doggy daycare if you’re heading out somewhere they’re not allowed to go.

Local attractions

Keen to get out and immerse yourselves in that spectacular Scottish scenery? There are plenty of places to do just that – this site is well placed for gentle strolls through nearby countryside, coastal hikes around Arbroath and St Andrews (both 45 minutes’ drive) or more adventurous challenges in the Cairngorms National Park (55 minutes). For those with different outdoor activities in mind, the famed golf courses of Gleneagles (35 minutes) and Carnoustie (40 minutes) aren’t far off, or you could meet the animals at Camperdown Wildlife Centre (20 minutes) or The Scottish Deer Centre (40 minutes) If you need indoor attractions for a damp day, there’s plenty to choose from – maybe Sensations Science Centre and the V&A Museum in Dundee or a trip to Perth for bowling, swimming, go-karting or an evening at Perth Concert Hall. Both cities are around 20 minutes’ drive away.
