Basic non- electric campervan pitch - park alongside the bank

  • Peaceful Perthshire pitches with direct access to the River Tay
  • A 15-minute drive to Pitlochry; 25 minutes to Tay Forest Park
  • Easy access via main roads; pub and shop a short walk away
Calling all those in search of outdoor adventures… Grandtully Station Campsite is in a fabulous Perthshire location with direct access to the River Tay and a wealth of adrenaline-filled activities in the surrounding area. Activity providers nearby have a great selection of options including gorge walking, canyoning, abseiling, rafting and mountain biking. Meanwhile, for calmer days out, you can take to the trails of Tay Forest Park, potter around pretty Pitlochry or sip samples at several local whisky distilleries… Back on site, you'll be staying on simple but well-kept pitches, where families, groups and dogs are all welcome. You'll have access to toilets and showers (described by one former guest as ‘impeccably clean’, and with accessible facilities) and wifi on site. There are also some handy facilities within walking distance, including a riverside pub, a convenience store and a fancy chocolate shop. Barbecues are permitted on site, so bring yours along and get set for an alfresco meal (the butcher in Pitlochry is a favourite for grill meats). Access to the site is easy from the A827, which links up to the A9 about six miles away for longer journeys.

What customers say

This clean, well-kept campsite is praised for its peaceful setting, modern amenities, and friendly staff. Easy self-check-in, good communication, and charming fairy lights are highlights. Some guests missed gendered restrooms, and a few had electric hook-up issues. Great for walking and close to pubs/restaurants. Ideal stopover or short stay.

Primitive grass tent campsite (small)

Liked Plenty of space, although I realise it is the start of the season; excellent facilities, all very clean.

Great location, off the beaten track and near a nice village/pub.

Primitive grass tent campsite (medium)

Liked Showers and toilet blocks were immaculate. Although it’s seemed a small site there was plenty of room for tents and camper vans. The site was very quiet on a night and there was little to no outside noise.

Powered gravel travel trailer campsite (large, maximum 8 metres)

Liked Good pitch, easy to find. Appreciated email communication beforehand with codes for gate and shower/toilet block (especially as reception was closed when we arrived). Loved the use of fairy lights at night.
Clean toilets & showers as well easy access to fresh water and disposal of waste & grey water 👍

Disliked Limited WiFi signal and shower block could benefit from a hair dryer

Powered gravel travel trailer campsite (large, maximum 8 metres)

Liked Beautiful entrance with the fairy lights felt really homely. Easy access to site and pitch from email information. Was a stop over with two young kids, liked that the toilet facilities were unisex meant we were able to use as a family which is fab with young children.
Beautiful views

10-amp powered gravel RV campsite (medium, maximum 7 metres)

Liked What a lovely site and in a brilliant location. Modern, clean toilet and shower blocks. We had the medium 10amp, hard standing, pitch. Pitch was ideal for us in our VW Transporter LWB. Ground beneath the stones took a peg for our wind out awning. Site is right next to The Grandtully Hotel and our The Inn On The Tay, the latter was our favourite. The chocolatier round the corner serves phenomenal hot chocolate and has lovely chocolates (although you'll need deep pockets). The site is also on the Rob Roy Way, we walked the 8km (ish) in to Aberfeldy without touching a road.

Disliked Only 1 thing, the toilet and shower block are unisex and it was handy for taking our 8 year old girl to the loo and to get washed up as a family but we'd have preferred the toilet to be split by gender, as we'd be more comfortable allowing our daughter to go alone (we were close to enough to the block to see here go in the door and to shout if needed). Not very comfortable with grown men sharing a toilet with our wee girl alone. It's a small thing really and only negative of a lovely site.

Local attractions

You’ll probably end up in Pitlochry (15 minutes’ drive) sooner or later, as it’s a handy place for shops, but it’s also a nice place for a stroll to see some of its heritage and unusual sights such as the fish ladder. Just outside the town are Blair Athol Distillery, which is open for tours and tastings, and Tay Forest Park, which has lots of lovely woodland trails to follow. For more heritage outings, head to Cluny House Gardens (10 minutes) and Castle Menzies (15 minutes), or have a tour of an Iron Age dwelling at The Scottish Crannog Centre (25 minutes), often with music or craft demonstrations. Whisky is part of the national heritage too, of course – so you could also add on another distillery tour at Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery (10 minutes). There’s a whole lot of excellent scenery and wildlife to explore nearby too – a couple of the best places to check them out are at Queen's View Visitor Centre and Scottish Wildlife Trust - Loch of the Lowes Visitor Centre (both 25 minutes). Intrepid guests can also join expeditions with The Rafting Company - Perthshire, a couple of minutes' walk from the site.
