This peaceful, spacious site offers great value and views. Guests loved the clean facilities, dog-friendly pitches, and fire pits. While many enjoyed the quiet and walks, some found check-in unclear, access rough, and had minor facility issues.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (family)

Liked Quite and nicely kept pitch. We used it to stop prior to beging the NC500 and was a brilliant stop off. The town is close. So close that my fish and chips were still hot when we pulled up.
Clean and well kept toilets and showers.

Disliked There were only two toilet/showers which got quite crowded but were clean.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (family)

Liked We liked the area and surrounding countryside - very beautiful (with some standing stones just across the road to the opening)
The showers were great
Loads of space on the field without strict bays so we could park wherever
There is a nearby river named River Isla and along there is Reekie Lynn waterfall - very impressive

Disliked I didn't really know what to do when we arrived, there was no response from the owners and no direction about what to do upon arrival except for a sign on the path saying campsite this way...

Primitive grass campsite (secluded, family)

Liked The enclosed pitch for dog.

Disliked Owner is totally non contactable. Emails, phone calls, voice mails, SMS. No response whatsoever. Didn't know which pitch was ours. Nobody there to welcome you and advise. Ended up picking our own pitch which turned out to be someone else's. Did not receive our fire wood basket. Regardless of our attempts, owners were simply absent and non existent to contact, assist or help.

Local attractions

No need to toss up between a city break and the countryside holiday here, as you’ll be within reach of two big Scottish cities from GG and Belle's and surrounded by rural landscapes for walking. In Dundee (40 minutes’ drive), potter around bookshops, visit Discovery Point (40 minutes) to see the RRS Discovery ship museum, go paddleboarding in the City Quay or unwind in a city café… With Perth (half an hour) to the south of the site, you could kayak or canoe under the city bridges along the river Tay from Willowgate Activity Centre (35 minutes) or check out the history of the 16th-century castle at The Black Watch Castle & Museum (35 minutes). Closer to the site, you won’t be short on natural beauty, such as the Kinclaven Bluebell Woods (20 minutes) or Meikleour Estate Beech Hedge (15 minutes), dubbed by Guinness World Records as the highest hedge in the world. Gin Bothy Experience (20 minutes) might also be the place for you if you’re the slightest bit interested in the history of Scottish bothies or you simply want to take some of the gin home for yourself.
