Poo bags supplied around the mile-long loop walk on the property

  • Dog-friendly site in a peaceful, rural location 15 miles from Perth
  • One-mile walk on site; 40 minutes’ drive to Tay Forest Park and Dundee
  • Secure dog park and dog classes; 10 minutes’ walk to dog-friendly pub
It’s a dog’s world at GG and Belle's… this completely dog-friendly site is all about the good times for all the family, dogs included, and you’ll soon see why. The Perthshire site has its very own secure dog park and dog classes (both available to book) and various animals that guests can meet around the site. While guests and dogs are very well tended to, the location is also what makes GG and Belle's a splendid holiday spot. The site is in a peaceful, rural patch, just 15 miles from Perth and 40 minutes’ drive from Dundee, two Scottish cities that have plenty of character, historical sites, museums and great restaurants. It's also 40 minutes’ drive from Tay Forest Park, where there are forest trails, Iron Age remains and spectacular views. For those shorter walks first thing in the morn or before bed, the site has a one-mile loop that you and your dogs can take and just 10 minutes’ walk down the road is a dog-friendly pub and restaurant when you’re raring for something to eat. Back at base, book onto one of the site’s dog classes, which include canine hoopers, obedience, canicross, bikejor and scent work. The secure dog park is available for exclusive hire and online, you’ll find the site’s shop. As for a freshening up, the site also has two self-contained toilets and showers – handy.

Liked Zero…

Disliked Just a field plonked in an area on the outskirts of Blairgowrie. The local facilities were extremely limited. No greeting/guidance upon arrival. Never saw those associated with the campsite.
The facilities were there but no more than you would expect to find on a building site or road construction.
The farm track on the way in/out was in a helluva state, it’s one thing to have an unfinished road surface but crikey the narrowness of the track left you no alternative to hit rut after rut after rut. If you value your vehicle avoid like the plague.
There was absolutely nothing there that would make me feel like returning.

Liked A peaceful quiet site. Lovely views and a nice walk around the perimeter. Plenty of space. The showers were roomy and easy to use

Disliked The bumpy track down to the site. The washing up area isn’t worth using but we wash up at our own pitch quite happily anyway

Liked The 1 mile walk around the outside of the campsite.

Disliked The toilets and showers were disgusting. The shower had actually fallen off the wall in one of the showers meaning there was only one shower available. Having just two toilets and two showers in the same room made things difficult and left big queues every morning. There was a dog barking every night from Midnight to 4am continuously so we didn’t sleep. It wasn’t a dog on the site either apparently it was a gun dog that the campsite owner was looking after or something no idea it was extremely irritating and disturbed most of the campers and ruined the stay. You can’t wash your dishes unless you want to fill up a washing up bowl that they’ve kindly left for us and fill it with shower water because the sinks are to small. Oh and there’s a dirty rusty dish rack to put them on to dry to. That’s literally it. The road to get to it is absolutely horrendous. Other than that I wouldn’t ever return. To add to that the owners daughter repeatedly drove back and forward through the campsite to go to her car that’s been abandoned I don’t no what she was doing but she did it multiple times in the evening which disturbed our sleep, she has a Subaru so it’s not exactly quiet I just don’t get what she kept going back for it was a bit strange.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (family)

Liked Large, quiet field with two portacabin bathrooms and washing up table with tap nearby.

Fresh drinking water from tap.
Toilets were kept as clean as can be. Slightly muddy floors which cannot be helped when campers are traipsing in and out from a damp field.

Quiet and very picturesque location without being cut off from civilisation. Town just a few mins drive.

Great for campers with dogs.

Lovely walks around the area.

Didn't meet the owners but contact details provided on booking and on toilet doors in case you need them.

Easy and straight forward booking.

Disliked Track down to the camping field is exactly that. A farm track, and could be unsuitable for some vehicles. My car did struggle a bit as it is very low profile but we managed ok.

Local attractions

No need to toss up between a city break and the countryside holiday here, as you’ll be within reach of two big Scottish cities from GG and Belle's and surrounded by rural landscapes for walking. In Dundee (40 minutes’ drive), potter around bookshops, visit Discovery Point (40 minutes) to see the RRS Discovery ship museum, go paddleboarding in the City Quay or unwind in a city café… With Perth (half an hour) to the south of the site, you could kayak or canoe under the city bridges along the river Tay from Willowgate Activity Centre (35 minutes) or check out the history of the 16th-century castle at The Black Watch Castle & Museum (35 minutes). Closer to the site, you won’t be short on natural beauty, such as the Kinclaven Bluebell Woods (20 minutes) or Meikleour Estate Beech Hedge (15 minutes), dubbed by Guinness World Records as the highest hedge in the world. Gin Bothy Experience (20 minutes) might also be the place for you if you’re the slightest bit interested in the history of Scottish bothies or you simply want to take some of the gin home for yourself.
