Galloway Point Holiday Park is situated less than a mile from the popular unspoilt coastal village of Portpatrick, in the Southwest corner of Scotland. Overlooking the Irish Sea, the Park enjoys panoramic views taking in the distant Mountains of Mourne. Galloway Point is a quiet and peaceful site in which to relax. Our emphasis is on quality facilities and we have extensively refurbished areas of the park, while maintaining it”s inherent natural beauty. The combination of a well appointed site with appealing scenery makes Galloway Point Holiday Park an attractive haven for visitors, particularly in Spring and early summer when the flora is in full bloom.

Route directions

Directions to Galloway Point Holiday Park From Dumfries From Dumfries on the A75, turn left on entering Stranraer at the crossroads, signposted Portpatrick A77. At T junction turn left on to Dalrymple Street. At roundabout at Lidls supermarket, go straight over. Approximately 3 miles along this road, take turning on right signposted Portpatrick, Lochans A77. As you enter Portpatrick, take first turning on left and follow road up the hill. Galloway Point is on right at the top of the hill. From Ayr From Ayr on A77 as you enter Stranraer take the turning on the left before the Craignelder Hotel, at the railway bridge. At crossroads, go straight across. At T Junction turn left on to Dalrymple Street. Then continue as above.

Whatever your pursuits, the countryside around Galloway Point can cater for all your needs. Dumfries and Galloway has a rich, historical heritage. The region proximity to the English border has left a legacy of castles and fortifications which can be explored. The area also has great significance in the establishment of Christianity in Scotland and there are many places of interest to visit, including the archaeological dig at Whithorn and St Ninians Cave. Every sport you can think of can be catered for in the region with golfers having the luxury of the excellent links course at Dunskey on your doorstep. There are more than 23 golf courses in the area to test your skills. For the active visitor perhaps walking the 212 mile Southern Upland Way is an attraction, passing through some of the most varied and unspoilt countryside in Scotland. Dumfries and Galloway has lots to offer families with some excellent places to visit that are fun for parents and children alike. The surrounding area is a gardeners dream. Since the climate is influenced by the Gulf Stream, there are several renowned gardens nearby. These include Castle Kennedy, Ardwell, Glenwhan and possibly the best known, Logan Botanical Gardens which exhibits many exotic trees and plants.
