Liked Natural alarm clock with sounds of coughing goat.
Disliked One shower cab for entire campsite. Very noisy neigbours even after 11pm. Two nights they were loud after midnight. Owners didnt give a fek. Close to main transit road, when hgv pass was wondering and checking flightradar if any Typhoons flyover.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Stunning views and it was nice getting the pitch number before arriving. Toilets were cleaned regularly.
Disliked Would benefit from having more than 1 shower for the number of pitches there. Glad we left when we did because the site was almost full and we'd been having to wait for showers before this anyway.

Great place, lovely area and great to stay for a couple of nights.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Lovely campsite, easy to find right off the A7! When we arrived it was lovely and quiet, we found the stream nearby and all the animals were fun to see. Exactly what you need for a few nights stay. They even provided a fire pit drum so we managed to buy some wood from Langholm and light the fire at night.
Disliked Only one shower, but new toilets on site are better than the older ones. Also would have been great to have a tap nearer to the tents, especially if you were way down the bottom end it was a bit of a trek. We did also wonder why all campers/ campervans were put onto one side of the pitches when the other side was completely empty! It would have been nice to maybe have a space apart, whilst it was so quiet anyway but it didn’t affect our stay as luckily everyone was very friendly and stuck to the no noise after 10pm rule.

Lovely, clean family friendly site
Powered campsite
Liked I was made up with this site from start to finish. Facilities were so clean every day, at all times of day and night. When walking to the facilities in the dark, the site had little motion sensor lights to help light the path as you walk. The grass was kept very nice and the owners took pride in keeping the place in shape. There are animals for the kids to see if they like (no feeding as it’s not a petting zoo but plenty to say hi to if you have kids like mine who just love all animals - sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and a lovely dog). Across the grass field, a very short walk for even the shortest of legs, there is a lovely shallow river and a tree swing. Owners were easily contactable and friendly and the views were lovely in amongst the hills. Noise levels really low and despite all the farm animals close by to the camping pitches, there were no bad smells at all. Only thing I would say is take a portable potty for night time if you have little ones as you probably wouldn’t want to walk to the toilets in the dark as there is a little picnic area between you and the toilets which my kids wouldn’t walk in the dark or rain in the night. I think most with little kids would expect to have to do this anyway. No shop on site but plenty within a very easy drive either way on one stretch of road. If you take a cool box for the first night, there’s plenty of places to stock up nearby (with a car - not a walk). Wouldn’t come to the Scottish Borders in general if you have kids who need constant entertainment as it isn’t a particularly activity packed area within the immediate vicinity - it’s more a ‘make your own fun in nature’ kind of place, which suited us perfect. Overall a really lovely experience and low price.
