  • Romantic couples-only glamping in Brodick on the Isle of Arran
  • Five minutes’ drive to Brodick, the ferry, beaches and golf courses
  • Stylish microlodges with Smart TV, kitchens and welcome hampers
With a handful of stylish pods oozing boutique flair and boasting exceptional comfort, Raven’s Gully is a hop and a skip from the ferry terminal on the Isle of Arran, in the middle of the (wonderfully slow-paced) island action and five minutes’ drive to… errr… quite a few places on the island. For romantic island living, these couples-only microlodges are hard to beat. It’s all there: luxury linens, posh toiletries and Smart TVs are just some of the lavish touches, as well as sumptuous king-size beds, mood lighting, voice-activated blinds and a comfy sofa to sink into at the end of a day’s adventures. The kitchen has everything you need to whip up a tasty feast. Pour yourself a glass of Prosecco from the welcome hamper and prep something yummy to enjoy outside by the firepit as you watch the sunset – bliss. Coffee aficionados get their morning caffeine fix thanks to the Nespresso machine, and there’s a dishwasher too, so you don’t have to do anything mundane like wash the dishes. The bathrooms are equipped with refreshing showers (great for post-hiking), fluffy towels and luxury toiletries – consider yourselves fully pampered. In fact, even the dogs are pampered here: pooches receive their very own welcome hamper, with blanket, bowls and a tasty treat. Outside, enjoy peaceful views from the decking with a glass of fizz in hand. On starry nights, spark up the firepit and watch the Milky Way glow. Each garden is enclosed and gated, so your furry friend stays safe and secure.

Local attractions

Active types can don their walking boots and complete a section of the long-distance Arran Coastal Way direct from the site, taking in villages, beaches, forest and waterfalls. Another invigorating ramble leads up Glen Rosa to the Blue Pool (an hour and 40 minutes’ walk). To combine a walk with a history lesson, park at Machrie Moor Parking Area (25 minutes’ drive) and amble up to Machrie Moor Standing Stones (25 minutes’ walk), passing stone circles and abandoned crofts on the way. Stop by the Isle of Arran Heritage Museum (five minutes’ drive) to learn about crofting traditions, and brush up on more local heritage with a tour of the period apartments at Victorian-era Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park (10 minutes). With the backdrop of Goatfell peak (45 minutes), Brodick (five minutes) is Arran’s main settlement; sample local whisky with tastings at Crofters Still, or laze on the sand at Dunham beach. There’s a harbour filled with yachts to have a mooch around, and loc al to the village are facilities for angling, golf, horse riding and climbing.
