  • Luxurious wooden lodges overlooking Loch Awe in Argyll and Bute
  • Inveraray Castle 25 minutes’ drive and Loch Lomond 55 minutes
  • Well-equipped kitchens, spacious living areas and private hot tubs
Portsonachan has a spectacular setting on Argyll and Bute’s Loch Awe, and where could be better to take advantage of that location than Portsonachan Lodges? Here you can stay in luxury Scottish Highlands accommodation for up to six guests, right on the water’s edge and with easy access to fishing, hiking and wildlife spotting. Each self-catering cabin has gorgeous views across the loch from its private hot tub, and comes fully furnished with fitted kitchens, open-plan living space with dining areas and cosy seating. All bed linens are provided in the well-designed bedrooms, and there’s an ensuite as well as a second bathroom. Moving outside, there’s a leafy garden area and private decking overlooking the loch. All the wooden lodges are dog-friendly, so your best pal can enjoy the countryside walks too, and there’s a convenience store in the quiet village of Dalmally (20 minutes’ drive) if you need to stock up on groceries. If cooking for everyone should become a chore, simply down tools and head for the locally sourced cuisine at the hotel restaurant right next door.
