  • Wild camping field with spectacular views over Aberdeenshire farmland
  • 10 minutes' drive from Banff; Speyside Way 20 minutes
  • Family and dog-friendly site near shops, cafés and dolphin spotting
Lodgehill Campsite is a four-acre grass site set in arable fields overlooking peaceful Aberdeenshire countryside. It’s wild camping at its best, but with the added advantage of being close to the towns of Cornhill (five minutes’ drive) and Banff (10 minutes) for essential shopping, making this a clever back-to-basics choice for families – and dogs are welcome too. The region is well-known for its agricultural shows and boat festivals during the summer months, and it’s a short road trip to Banff's beach, the distilleries that line the Speyside Way or to see dolphins swimming in the Moray Firth. Historic fishing villages with seafront cafés and welcoming pubs are also within easy reach. Secluded it might be, but the site is also easily accessed off the main A95 road – and you can park by the pitches too, so there’s no lugging gear around the site for you. The main pitching area is very spacious indeed and is a short walk away from a burn and the wilder areas of the farm. Barbecues are allowed at Lodgehill Campsite – just keep them off the ground and use your common sense.

What customers say

This campsite offers a peaceful escape with beautiful countryside views, appealing to those seeking a "wild camping" feel with basic but clean facilities. Pitches are spacious. While most praise the tranquil atmosphere, a few mention remoteness, steep toilet steps, and occasional noise. Primitive grass campsite

Liked Only stayed for one night but the view from the site is beautiful. Close to be a wild camping site but comes with 2 longdrop toilets and 1 shower. Will definitely be camping here again.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Nice quiet beautiful scenery loved being there first time Eco camping would do it again. Great stop off point if heading further north might stop off on way back.
Facilities are clean and well maintained.

Disliked Steps going into the toilet are quite steep due to not being able to do stairs very well, made it hard so not really a problem for some nowhere to wash up as only hot water is the outdoor shower.

the site is lovely. composting toilets were clean and well stocked . The shower was lovely and warm

The polytunnel was a lovely touch sheltering us from the wind whilst watching the sun go down .

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The camping site is spectacular, calm and peaceful. Everything was organized and clear, as you can find your pitch number labeled on the site.

Disliked I can’t say I didn’t dislike the toilets because you are coming to camp in a rural area and the toilets clean, hygiene is expected for these reasons. Toilets just need to be maintained with sprayers and hand washes.
