Sea views

  • Sea-view campervan pitches on the Wexford coastline, with dogs welcome
  • A 40-minute drive from Waterford or Wexford
  • Baginbun beach and Fethard on Sea village amenities a short walk away
Waking up to a sea view is a pretty special experience… and it’s one that comes as standard at The Norman View Campervan Park, on the gorgeous Co. Wexford coastline close to the village of Fethard on Sea. There’s no need to concern yourself with scrambling for a good spot here – each one of the motorhome pitches at this family-run farm site looks out over the waves, with Baginbun beach in the foreground and the Saltee Islands off in the distance. With views this good, it’s generally best to keep things simple in the surroundings – so there are no unnecessary distractions on the amenities front, although all the basics are covered in the form of fresh water, sewage and grey water disposal and facilities for sorting rubbish and recycling. Barbecues are permitted on site, and you can pick up the relevant bits in the village five minutes’ walk away (or stick around there for pubs and cafés instead if you prefer). Got a dog that’s partial to a sea view too? Happily, they’re welcome to join you at Norman View – that way, they can accompany you on walks along local beaches or out to Hook Lighthouse. Canoeing, kayaking and fishing are among the other activities available locally, and when you’re ready for a more urban day it’s about a 40-minute drive to Wexford or Waterford.

What customers say

Beautifully kept, quiet spot with stunning sea views & large pitches. Friendly owners, village/beach walkability, and great value are highlights. Most found the lack of on-site facilities manageable, especially RV campers. Dog park a hit!

Primitive cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked Views are amazing and pitches are all facing the sea, very relaxing from the moment you arrive. The site is also in a great location midway between the quaint village of Fethard and the fabulous Baginbun beach. Loved our first stay here and booked whilst still there to come back the following weekend.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked Great location, plenty of hard standing areas, hookups available, grey water disposal area. Incredible views and short walk to local amenities and beaches. Friendly interaction with camp staff.

Disliked Would easily be a 10 out of 10 but does lack toilet facilities, which is stated clearly, but would be really improved by them.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked Extremely clean and well kept site, incredible views of the sea from most pitches, 1km walk/cycle to the beach or to the local town in the other direction, owners were super friendly and helpful, very very peaceful site with no noise after really 8-9pm, very reasonably priced, the road to/from the site is quite doable even for a beginner in a larger camper, electric hookup at most pitches, lots of fresh water taps all over the site, lovely little walk within the site, fenced off dog run, no pubs nearby so none of the noise that comes with that, although we had a young child with us there are no real facilities for children which has the benefit of meaning a quiet site in the evening, Type2 electric vehicle charger available, small library which our son loved, good area for dealing with grey water, chemical toilet, bins etc

Disliked Minor in a camper/caravan but even one toilet and a shower would mean needing to rely a little less on your caravan/toilet and having to fill/empty tanks. Some of the coolest pitches are down by the cliffs but there is no electric hookup there yet, but views further up the site are also fantastic so again this is minor

Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked Beautifully kept campsite in stunning location overlooking the sea with a lovely, safe beach nearby to walk on & swim. Very quiet with no late night noise & no light pollution. Dog friendly too with a dedicated dog exercise field. Lots of history in this area + fabulous cliff top walks. It's also within walking distance of Fethard-on- Sea which means you can park up & explore the area on foot or bicycle easily.

Disliked While it is made very clear that there are no toilets or showers at this site & most campervans are self sufficient, the addition of a couple of toilets here would make for an even better experience.

Local attractions

Once you’ve gazed out at the lovely views on site, take in a bit more of the seaside scenery with a trip to Baginbun beach. It’s only about a 15-minute walk from the site, and if you’re feeling energetic you can carry on to the Martello Tower on the headland or add on a visit to Carnivan Bay for extra beach times. There are more coastal strolls to be had on the Hook Peninsula, including those taking in Hook Lighthouse and Hook Head Beach (both 15 minutes’ drive). It’s also worth leaving the coast behind for a little while to head inland for a wander around the restored ruins of Tintern Abbey (15 minutes), which also has a lovely walled garden and a tearoom. Other historic places to explore nearby include Johnstown Castle (35 minutes), Waterford Treasures: Medieval Museum and the interactive King of the Vikings (both 45 minutes). If you’re more into outdoors time, head to the John F Kennedy Arboretum (25 minutes), Copper Coast Mini Farm (55 minutes) or the madcap inflatables of Dunmore Adventure (an hour).
