  • The Lake Kilrea, Jungle NI and Lough Neagh within 25 minutes' drive
  • Private hot tub and firepit for each cabin; dogs and kids welcome
Settling in for a chilled-out rural break is a cinch at Mill Lodges, in the Co. Londonderry countryside just outside the village of Upperlands. With easy access from the A29, getting here is straightforward – and once you’re in there’s very little you need to do other than perhaps sort out a drink of your choice and head out on to your private terrace to soak up the views. Beds will be made up for you, towels are provided, and each cosy cabin has been kitted out with most of what you should need for a relaxed getaway. Aside from the bedrooms, each cabin has its own bathroom and an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, with a sofa, TV, dining table and plenty of useful kitchen kit (including a cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and washer-dryer). Outside, your private space has a swing seat, outdoor table, firepit and – surely the highlight of the whole thing – a private hot tub where you can bubble away while looking out at the rural views. Fancy cooking outside as well? Head over to the communal area, which has a shared barbecue for guest use. Other shared facilities include a play area to help you wear the kids out for a good night’s sleep. Dogs are welcome on site as well, and there should be plenty of places to get out for a decent walk close by. This is just the spot for some quiet chillout time – but it’s just as good for an action-packed break, with all manner of walking trails, watersports and fun attractions within easy reach.
