Lovely clean back to basics site with friendly owner
Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite
Liked Really friendly helpful owner, lovely clean campsite. Back to basics with compost loos (super clean with plenty of loo roll and soap), but still provided showers and a washing up area. Just a note re. the showers, one of them is plumbed in back to front so hot is cold and cold is hot! There are fridges and a freezer next to the farmhouse (ask the owner if you're unsure where they are) as well as some kettles and a toaster in case of torrential rain!
The owner was so good with the kids, and brought a wheelbarrow load of firewood right up to our tent (£10). Plenty of pitches to choose from, each with its own firepit and improvised table. Pitches are pretty flat and there's loads of room for kids to explore. My son wanted to stay longer and wants to go back later in the summer!
Disliked Country lanes there are a tiny bit narrow, so take your time!

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite
Liked The camp site was very clean, composting toilets, sink to wash up and good basic showers. Lots of places to pitch and no set areas, set up with shade from tress or in an open field. Firepits on site and also an old barrel with wooden top to use as a table. Lovely chilled feel on site and owner very friendly and helpful.
