If you are looking for a family friendly campsite in mid-Somerset, then Greenacres Camping is the ideal location. Our award-winning site nestles in the beautiful Somerset countryside, with stunning views of Glastonbury Tor. We offer lots of play space, big pitches, the smell of camp fire wood smoke, amazing wildlife and relaxation, just 45 minutes from Bristol and Bath. Greenacres was the AA SMALL CAMPSITE OF THE YEAR 2014 and this year our AA GOLD PENNANT AWARD score of 96% is the highest in the UK. Camping Magazine featured our site as No3 in its top 10 sites for families. The Alan Rogers Guide of hand-picked sites describes Greenacres as "a true haven of peace and quiet". Greenacres is on the outskirts of North Wootton village, which lies at the centre of a triangle between the towns of Wells, Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury. From the M5 take Exit 23 to Wells. The best approach to North Wootton is from the A39 Glastonbury/Wells road at Brownes Garden Centre. Follow the campsite signs. From the A361 follow the campsite signs at Steanbow (2 miles). Grid Reference: ST 553 417 (OS 1:50 000 Landranger Sheet 182 "Weston-super-Mare, Bridgwater & Wells" GPS Co-ordinates: Latitude 51 degrees 10.334' North, Longitude 02 degrees 38.521' West.

Local attractions

The campsite is close to the beautiful city of Wells, with its magnificent Cathedral and Bishops Palace, mystic Glastonbury and the historic market town of Shepton Mallet. You can also enjoy days out at the Avalon Marshes wildlife reserves, the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Stourhead, the Bath & West Showground, shopping at Clark's Village in Street, 3 different Steam railways and many other attractions. The beaches of Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Lyme Regis, Weymouth and West Bay (TV's "Broadchurch") are an hour or less away. Greenacres is perfect for cycling on the Somerset Levels (we have a fleet of 50 bikes of all types for hire), walking on the Mendip Hills or touring the vale of Avalon. Climbing, caving and abseiling can be arranged on request.
