Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked: We stayed in our campervan for one week at this stunning campsite. We parked up, fired up the solar panels and had a very comfortable week at this off grid campsite. The views from the campsite are to die for, wherever you decide to pitch on this spacious site. There are plenty of footpaths, bridleways and charming country lanes direct from the campsite that enabled us to walk or bike every day with no need to use our van. No two days were the same. This part of Exmoor is stunning with wild moors, beautiful forests and stunning coastline. The toilets, showers and washing up area are clean and functional. There is a chemical disposal point for Van's which you don't always get on an off grid campsite. This allowed us to stay for longer in our van. The host Dawn and her two lovely dogs are very welcoming and full of local knowledge. For a relaxing week with amazing scenery this campsite is a must.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked: Amazing campsite! Absolutely perfect place to unplug, unwind, slow down and just be!! Incredible views, beautiful countryside and superb host! Being off grid campsite does not compromise on facilities - clean flushing toilets and hot showers, washing station in a convenient barn like setting, all available but seamlessly blends in with nature! Dawn, our host, works tirelessly to provide the best service for her guests. You will meet the Exmoor ponies, Mia and Rosie - Dawn’s farm dogs aka cuddle monsters, sheep, peacocks, pheasants, birds of prey, deers and more wildlife than you can imagine, just be still and listen! We cannot recommend this campsite enough! Even our teenagers (two 18 y.o. boys) absolutely loved it! And no WiFi in sight:) We will definitely be back soon!
Disliked: The fact we had to leave, but we’ll be back 😊

Liked: First return of the year after Dawn has made loads of improvements. New showers, compost loos along with flushing toilets. Improved drinking water supply and hot water dish washing facilities. To top it all off our Sunday night was spent all alone with the wildlife.
Perfect stay well done Dawn see you soon.

Liked: This is semi-wild camping at its finest.
The grandest of fields, surrounded by the most breathtaking views. Forget Kent, this is most definitely God’s County & the white church at Selworthy (seen in the distance) surely proves this.
There is ample room to find your own secluded patch & the facilities are most welcome. Dawn is the coolest & most gracious hostess & don’t forget to check out the wonderful work she is doing with Exmoor ponies.
Dawn, thank you so much for sharing your little slice of heaven…can’t wait to return.

Liked: Absolutely loved this site for its views and for how quiet it was. I watched the sunset colours keep changing over the sea from my bed - stunningly beautiful and a priceless experience! I watched deer grazing in the same field below me.
The site has everything you need in terms of loos, hot showers and washing up areas. Dawn was extremely kind and welcoming, she keeps a great eye on the campsite.
Disliked: Make sure you follow Dawns directions, the sat nav will take you up a very narrow road. Head to the village instead of the left turn it asks for, you’ll see it signposted at that point to the village. 😅

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked: Spectacular landscape, site situated in very quiet location just under the rim of Exmoor with a view out to the Bristol Channel in the distance. Perfectly adequate facilities - clean toilets and shower. Friendly reception from the owner.
Disliked: Not really a dislike, but field has a significant slope and we would advise campervan users to use the higher pitches if possible - our van struggled a bit with the slope when the grass was dewy. Minor issue though.

From the manager: Thank you for your great review Andrew and it was good to meet you both.
We do prefer campervans to park at the top of the field, especially if the ground is damp. While the field has a mild slope in the middle section, this is mainly given over to longer grass areas, with no pitches. The extensive flat and flatter areas are at the top, on both sides and at the lower end of the field - so plenty of suitable pitches to choose and masses of space between campers.
