  • Peaceful adults-only campsite at a private Dorset nature reserve
  • North Dorset Railway 15 minutes’ drive; Abbotsbury Swannery 50 minutes
  • Wildlife lake on site; Sturminster Newton eateries 10 minutes’ drive
Going adults-only in Dorset? Best head for Redlands Breaks, set on a private nature reserve 10 minutes’ drive from Sturminster Newton. Once there, you can tuck yourselves into your cosy and peaceful accommodation – nicely quiet as there are no kids running around – and put your feet up with gorgeous views over the wildlife lake (look out for the ducklings). To make your stay at Redlands even more special, breakfast and barbecue hampers are available (for an extra cost), and you can also order wine and champagne to add to the romance of your stay at this scenic spot. There are food shops in Sturminster Newton as well as a choice of restaurants and brasseries for special nights out à deux, or you can order takeaways and take them back to your pitch for an equally special night in. On-site facilities include a wooden shower block, a fridge for keeping your food fresh, a washing-up area and a laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. While dogs are very welcome on the site, please pick up after them and put the bags in the designated dog-waste bin.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked We chose an unpowered tent-site it a flat grassy field behind a stand of trees. It was peaceful and private and cool - we pitched up under a big old oak.
A bit of a walk to the showers and loos, but that was our choice! We could have camped closer.
Lovely lake with Canada geese, surrounded by wildflowers and some well placed seating. The wheelbarrows provided to get our gear from the car to the camp-site were super handy. I can't really fault it!

Loved everything about this beautiful site. We will be back!

Liked We really enjoyed our stay at Redlands, it was so peaceful and secluded. If you need some time to yourself I would highly recommend this site.

Disliked My wife did struggle with the unisex toilets, but by the end of our stay was a little more comfortable with this.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Large level pitches, clean facilities, very peaceful lots of wildlife including owls, the staff were helpful and friendly and everybody on the site were happy which this site seemed to give off, the toilet blocks were illuminated at night and a help yourself herb garden were nice little touches. The general small shop was 3 minutes drive and Blandford Forum is a must to visit, park in Morrisons car park and walk along the river, the views were lovely and no noise from traffic, we would recommend this site to anybody needing a peaceful break.

Disliked Unisex toilets

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The site was great :) so peaceful and even with everyone on the site, it was still lovely and quiet. Easy to travel to places close by and further a field. Facilities were great and very clean. This site is still a work in progress with the owners very busy making improvements every day. Whilst we had a fab time, would love to see it in a year or so and see how great it is. Would definitely come back :)

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Such a quiet, spacious and well laid out site where you can sit and chill or take a wander around the local area. Loved the facilities, very clean and quirky. Showers were fab, liked the space to put your belongings and get ready in a dry area. Booked our return visit as soon as we got home. Can't wait to go back and see the current project finished. Very friendly accommodating staff .. I think it is the most relaxing site we've been on

Disliked Nothing to dislike
