Bell tent (four person)
Liked This was my first time camping as a solo female with my three children, and I honestly could not fault it. From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience.
Paul, the camping warden, was fantastic! He greeted us on arrival with a warm welcome, made sure we had all the information we needed, and went out of his way to make us feel safe and comfortable. For our very first rural camping experience, his friendly and approachable nature made such a difference. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he was on hand to answer any questions!
The site itself was immaculate – toilets and showers were spotless, handwashing and washing-up facilities were excellent, and the whole campsite was beautifully maintained. My children had an amazing time exploring and enjoying the outdoors, and we all left with happy memories.
Thank you, Summers Campsite, for giving us the perfect first camping experience, and thank you, Paul, for being such an outstanding camping warden!
It’s a definite 10/10 from us, and we hope to return again this summer with friends.

Bell tent (six person, basic)
Liked We hired a Bell Tent which suggested it slept 4 - it was huge & could easily accommodate more people.
Good location with lots of shops/pubs just a short drive or walk away.
Compost Toilets, although very simple, worked well.
Disliked There was no one to keep an eye on the site.
When we got there, we phoned a mobile number to ask which Bell tent was ours & was told to just chose one. We had no idea which were occupied or not, so had to open and look inside to see if other people's items were in there or not. This was uncomfortable to do & we wouldn't have been happy other's doing that to us.
When we found an empty one, although it was lovely and big, it was rather dirty inside (signs of dried liquid on the floor & lots of dirt/sand/stones), so it seemed unlikely they were checked and cleaned between people using them.
Sadly, even though we were camped in an area which was signposted for 'families' to use, there was a group that parked up next to us, who kept increasing in multiple cars and were very loud with music playing and talking loudly late into the evening.
Our 9 year old couldn't sleep because of this and after he was in tears, we decided to pack up and leave in the middle of the night, which wasn't ideal.

Good site, good facilities, would definitely stay again
Bell tent (six person, basic)
Liked I loved the park with some very friendly neighbours, and loved staying in the tee pee, beats a tent any day 😊
Disliked My only complaint is I didn’t get one bit of sleep. There was a group of older adults with young kids, who were very loud till 3am. My whole family was kept awake which I know is no fault of the park, but was a little let down.
