  • Well-kept family-friendly Dorset site 10 minutes’ drive from Wareham
  • Monkey World 10 minutes’ drive and Studland Bay 25 minutes
  • Electric hook-ups and hot showers; pubs and shops 10 minutes’ drive
Whatever your reason to head for the West County – beach holidays, family sightseeing, walking or watersports – Mill Paddock Campsite has got all bases covered. This small site is around 10 minutes’ drive from Jurassic Coast beaches and Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre; it’s also right by the Purbeck Way, and only a short stroll from paddleboarding adventures along the River Frome. With no designated pitches, you can set up wherever you like on the level, well-maintained and family-friendly camping field, which has electric hook-ups and water points dotted around its perimeter. The modern facilities block houses showers, toilets and washing-up sinks – it’s cleaned regularly and there’s always plenty of hot water. There are mature trees edging the field if you’re after shade, picnic tables are provided for alfresco dining and firepits are welcome so you can all gather around and enjoy being together. Logs are available to purchase on site at a low price, and pretty everything you need for outdoor evenings can be found in the shops, pubs and restaurants of Wareham (10 minutes’ drive). Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join in all the family fun, and guest numbers are always limited so the field never feels overcrowded; this also allows a safe environment for children to play in – and there’s a treehouse for them to muck around in too.

What customers say

This laid-back, clean campground has friendly, helpful hosts, Abbie and Paul. Guests loved the level, tidy sites and handy amenities like a shared fridge, calling it a great base for exploring. However, some found the showers a letdown (weak spray, constant button pressing) and toilet facilities can be scarce when it's busy.

Power optional grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Close by to some amazing views just a short drive up the road.
Just a field with electric points and a toilet block with a place to wash your pots wasn't dirty but the spiders are very much at home (it's outside so I get not much could be done) but really put me off using the showers was only there for one night so not to much of a problem was only 4 others there all night the views of the sky are the best of you like star gazing.

Power optional grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked We loved how peaceful the small and friendly site was, we also enjoyed sitting around the fire pit provided and watching the beautiful star lit sky. Very clean and tidy with nice warm showers! 👍

Disliked Not a lot to dislike other than the shower heads could do with being replaced, they just spray everywhere but where you want!

Power optional grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Clean toilets, well kept lawn, option to have both electric hookup and camp fires, shower temperature was good.

Disliked Location was a little far from a lot of the places we visited, also alot of ants nested around the site, and the shower heads didn't spray water evenly. Poor Internet connection.

Power optional grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Simple, clean, well-kept site. Very quiet. Toilets/Showers block clean.
Paul the owner/manager friendly and gave helpful advice.
Ideally situated for Tyneham village carpark where it is a 2/3 mile walk along a track to Worbarrow Bay where we had a fantastic swim.

Disliked Access lane from main road is quiet narrow with limited passing places so some caution needed.

Power optional grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Great flat pitches, able to have a fire pit and they sell logs! Clean toilets and showers.

Disliked Not a problem for when we stayed but probably not enough toilets and showers for if the campsite is full.
