What customers say
This peaceful, secluded campsite gets top marks for spotless facilities, roomy sites, and lovely country views. Guests loved the fishing lakes, dog wash, pizza truck, and spa. Most found it quiet, though some heard sheep or neighbors. A few wished for more kid activities and closer amenities/on-site shop. Highly recommended for friendly hosts and a relaxing vibe.

Beautiful location, peaceful and convenient.
FHU grass campsite
Liked I liked that we felt secure as you needed a Gate code to access the site and they had security in the evening. The facilities were clean and tidy and easily accessible. The site itself was in a great location to have as a base for us to explore the surrounding areas. There was an enclosed area for dogs to run around and plenty of doggy poo bins around. It's peaceful, lots of families about. Fresh water and power supply near the pitch was also very good.
Disliked There were giant cracks everywhere on the site so the dogs kept on stepping in the holes that were big enough for their whole leg to fit in, we had to make sure no one sat near the cracks as your camping chair would topple over and you had to be careful not to step in a hole and hurt yourself when it got darker out.
The shower cut out after 4 seconds so you had to keep your hand on the button and wash one handed.

In all, we really enjoyed our stay. The tranquility was lovely.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Fishing lakes
The fact that it really is hidden away in beautiful countryside.
Showers, toilets and washing up areas very clean.
Disliked Distance of toilet bock to campsite. They need an additional toilet block in the tent pitching area. Could be compostable loos if it’s tricky to get plumbing to that area.
The games room did not have any light switch, so unable to play the games once it gets dark.
Would be great if there was a little shop selling essentials.

From the manager: Hi there
Many thanks for your review.
With it being between a 30-90 second walk depending on where you're pitched to the toilets, being a small family-run site, adding another shower block is not feasible, on top of the two we already have. We pride ourselves on having modern and clean shower blocks and would not wish to add a compost loo block.
Regarding the games barn, we have plenty of lights in there that you can clearly see displayed hanging from the roof. In the summer months, when the nights are long, we do not switch them on, as it often gives kids a reason to stay out later, making noise to disturb other guests staying near this area. As the nights get shorter, we turn them on.
Many thanks

Disliked I think a little more children's area/activity would be nice, playground, etc.
Only two toilets for so many people

From the manager: Hi There
Many thanks for your honest review. We agree, we used to have more games for the children, but the more stuff we provided, the more it seemed either to disappear or get damaged. Regarding the two shower blocks, we have between 8-9 toilets/showers per sex and have never had an issue with queues.
Many thanks

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The facilities were great. Really clean and accessible. The location was also lovely with easy access to Charmouth and Lyme Regis.
Disliked The communication with the staff wasn’t good. We tried to call the number provided several times and never got through. We left a voicemail asking to be called back which didn’t happen either. The spa also has outdated prices on the website.

From the manager: Hi There
Many thanks for your review, with the site being fully booked this last week it can make answering phone calls a bit difficult as within the hours of 1 pm-4 pm on friday we had over 200 phone calls, let alone all the ones outside of this time, I did call back all that left voicemails but I remeber a couple going to straigh to voicemail so may have been an issue with your signal. I did also mention this to everyone at check-in in so unsure where the confusion is.
Regarding SPA pricing, I have just double-checked and everything is up to date, so if you could get in touch to say what exactly appears to be outdated, that would be useful.
Many thanks

Liked Flat patches, big space for the kids to play, clean facilities and beautiful surroundings. Top tip - if you have no signal to call for attention to access the site, park up and head in on foot via the side gate to the left to hunt down a member of the team.
Disliked Bring some earplugs for the sheep!

Excellent facilities, clean and well organised. Will be coming back
Powered grass campsite
Liked The site felt secure with the front gates having a security code, the facilities where clean at all times, staff where very polite, engaging and well organised, the kids loved the tractor rides and football pitch, toilets well stocked with a broken toilet seat being fixed within hours, the showers had an amply supply of hot water when ever I used them and we loved the pizza night on Saturday night. Our electric tent pitch also came with a water standpipe which made life a lot easier
Disliked Please make more of the games barn and grub pub. The ground was quite churned up, on pitch 96 due to the long hot summer leading to some quite deep cracks in the ground, not a lot you can do about the weather, but please fill the cracks with soil or sand as this can be quite dangerous for small people twisting ankles and falling over

Very friendly, great facilities, good communication, well looked after
Powered grass campsite
Liked Really enjoyed our stay here. The site is so peaceful and everyone was friendly. The warden was really helpful. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Clean loos and showers, nice washing up area. Our dog loved the dog field. Will definitely be back at some point!
Disliked Personally I found the drive to the site a bit stressful as was through some pretty rural roads and villages. And it was a fair drive to get to town/shops...but that's literally what makes it such a lovely 'hideaway'.

Many thanks for your review. Thank you for pointing out the sign. I have since removed and updated it with a new one. When in the thick of things on-site, these things tend to be harder to notice.
