  • Family-friendly and family-run site with walks down to Lee Bay
  • Set on 27 peaceful acres a couple of miles from Woolacombe
  • Farm shop and e-bike/bike hire: trails straight from the farm
Traditional Devon farm stays are the name of the game at family-owned and -run Lee Meadow Farm a couple of miles from the sands and surf of Woolacombe, set among 27 acres with woodland views on one side and Devon hills on the other, and with views of the Bristol Channel towards Wales. There is a licensed farm shop here too, selling local free-range eggs and lots of fresh local produce. Just a few of the things on offer are hot breakfasts in a box, lunches, homemade cream teas, chocolate brownies and local ciders and ales, wine and beer. With a walk through the woods, guests can also reach a splendid pub in Lee which serves food. Easy walks and bike rides are simple to access straight from the farm, and the safe cycling of the former Ilfracombe branch line is just at the end of the farm lane. There's plenty of space on site for kids to run about too. Facilities are well kept and include free hot showers, flushing toilets and washing-up sinks; a disabled shower and toilet facilities plus a baby changing area and a token-operated hairdryer. E-bike and cycle hire is available on site. And finally, the two pubs within walking distance selling fine ales, cider and food are faves with the locals – always a good sign for pubs…

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Pitches are great and we were able to group with our friends. Facilities - shop and showers are fab. Nice team onsite and a very chilled campsite all round. We felt the site was safe and the kids enjoyed riding their bikes on the pump track. The walk to Lee Bay is really lovely. Great stay.

Disliked Cleanliness in the toilets was a bit questionable. More to do with the visitors than the campsite staff but the ladies toilets were left in a state a couple of times and there were two occasions where there was no toilet paper.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay, especially the spacious pitches, our facilities, the relaxed atmosphere, and that your children had fun on the pump track. It's great to know you felt safe and enjoyed the walk to Lee Bay.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the ladies' toilets. Our facilities are cleaned thoroughly three times a day, and we take great pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Unfortunately, other guests can sometimes leave them in an unacceptable condition between scheduled cleans.

We do wish this had been reported to our team while you were on site, as we would have addressed the issue immediately, including restocking toilet paper if needed. We always encourage guests to let us know of any concerns during their stay so we can resolve them as quickly as possible.

Liked Location, large pitches, friendly staff, views across to the sea at sunset are stunning, café, farm shop, shower blocks are clean.

Disliked Hot taps ran out of water several times (though showers were hot throughout). Not the fault of the site but dog owners not picking up poo on the walk to Lee Bay.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We're delighted you enjoyed our spacious pitches, friendly team, sea views, café, farm shop, and that you found our shower blocks clean.

We're sorry to hear the hot taps appeared to run out of hot water. As they are supplied by the same hot water system as the showers, which you mentioned stayed hot throughout, we're not entirely sure what caused this on your visit, but we'll certainly look into it.

Thank you also for mentioning the issue with dog owners not picking up after their pets on the walk to Lee Bay. We're pleased this wasn't an issue on the campsite itself, but we'll remind our guests of the importance of cleaning up after their dogs both on and around the site.

Liked Helpful friendly staff. All the extras available - hire bikes, zip line. Cleanliness. Farm shop on site. Proximity to coast. Lovely flat pitches where ground wasn't rock hard.

Disliked Not enough hooks in shower cubicles. People left the bench wet and then there was only one hook to use.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely feedback. We're so pleased you enjoyed our friendly team, the facilities, the cleanliness, the farm shop, and our location near the coast.

We also appreciate you highlighting the lack of hooks in the shower cubicles. That's a very helpful suggestion, and we'll be looking into getting some extra hooks installed as soon as possible to make the showers more convenient for everyone.

We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Liked Lovely big pitch & nice and flat. Very spacious. Dog friendly. Good shower facilities.

Disliked Shower / toilet block would benefit from a couple more sinks (only 2 at present), a bin & some shelves near the sinks to place your belongings when brushing teeth / having a wash.
Also, strangely, the handle from the water point tap was removed on our 2nd day!
