What customers say
This campsite provides a tranquil rural retreat with lovely views, ideal for discovering nearby beaches and villages. Guests mostly commended the friendly staff, clean facilities, and generous pitches. Some noted steep inclines, limited power, and older amenities. A few reviews mentioned poor staff encounters and site upkeep, but these seem to be isolated cases.

I would never use this campsite again......
Powered grass RV campsite
Liked The view and convenient location. Sadly, very little else.....
Disliked Obnoxious staff. The female was clearly drunk when she demanded additional payment for a tent that was too large for our pitch. (It wasn't)
Fortunately she then wandered off to speak to other campers and we didn't see her again!
Strange mobile patrols of the campsite by a male in a red Skoda Yeti. These were very regular and he stopped to complain about kids playing in the wrong places!
Archaic and grubby toilet and shower facilities. They were some of the worst that we have experienced in a very long time.
Dog poo bins overflowing and not changed in the 4 days that we stayed at the site.
No WiFi in the camping fields.

Liked I got a friendly greeting and things were explained to me well.
Nice quiet pitch, protected from the wind by the hedge.
Toilets and showers basic but clean and tidy. Showers were nice and hot.
Disliked There was nothing to dislike really. The site is basic, but it is advertised as that and is a lovely peaceful base to explore Devon from.
Not the fault of the site, but the walk back from Branscombe is a killer! Very steep hill. Luckily I managed to cadge a lift 😊

Liked Toilet and shower facilities good and clean. Large pitches.
Disliked Field is quite sloped so couldn’t get van fully level even on ramps.
Electric hookup wasn’t very good, it was very weak so kettle, hair appliances etc all tripped the electrics, something we haven’t had with any other site before.

Nice views and area is lovely

Liked The site owner was welcoming and showed me various pitches we could use, especially ones with a nice view. The facilities are a perfectly functional wooden block containing three showers and three loos and a larger family/baby change/accessible room. They opened up more loos as the site filled up towards the weekend but I don't think there's any more showers. The showers are proper electric showers, no constantly pushing a button!
Disliked Nothing really, but worth noting it's only 6 amp electricity and everywhere has a slight slope so if you're in a motorhome as we were ramps are needed.
Also worth noting that it's a hilly area with narrow roads and a long way to the bus stops if you're in a motorhome and like to leave it sited and explore on foot. Not a problem for us but maybe for some. WiFi is weak the further you are from the office IE the pitches with the best views. There's no play area for children I don't think

From the manager: Thanks for your nice review.
The electric hook ups are 6amp and will cope with electrical camping equipment.
Our site is slightly sloped but motorhome pitches are reasonably flat. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about hilly areas and narrow roads but that is charm of the area!
The bus stop did use to be just down the road however unfortunately the bus compony moved it slightly further away, which is out out of our control.
We are looking at expanding the WiFi signal up the sight in the future.
