  • Quiet working farm park 20 minutes' drive from moors and beaches
  • Walking, cycling and birdwatching at Stover Country Park
  • Outdoor heated pool and two fishing lakes
Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park is a quiet family-friendly park set on a working farm around 10 minutes' drive from the historic market town of Newton Abbot. It's within walking distance of the Templer Way heritage trail and a huge country park, as well as a flat and family-friendly cycling trail through woodlands and around lakes to Dartmoor National Park. The outdoor pool is always warm as it's heated by the site's biomass heating system, and there's a fishing lake within walking distance of all pitches. The site also has a small play area to keep the kids entertained. The dishwashing and laundry facilities are housed within the award-winning heated toilet and shower block. Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park is easily accessible from the main roads that run either side of Newton Abbot, making the park well placed for shopping trips and evenings out to Torbay, Exeter and Plymouth.

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Good sized pitches for motorhomes. Toilet block very clean and good number of, showers. Can see why they have had so many awards. Nice to have "field kitchen" to cater for breakfast and lunches etc.

Disliked Access to site is single lane, could envisage a slight issue in busy season. Not a complaint just an observation, bearing in mind this is a working farm, it is what it is!
Try not to use Greycoat Lane for access to site (if sat nav directs you!), this is narrow with a very bad surface. Use the Twelve Oaks Park Location map link on booking summary.

Liked Well laid out site.

Disliked Not much of a welcome.

The number plate recognition gate let us out, but never did let us in.

The ‘field kitchen’, supposedly open 7 days a week, is actually closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (when we were there!)

Pretty good, clean bathrooms, but you have to paddle in everyone else’s shower water that washes through.

Not a very peaceful site, but ok.

FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (premium)

Liked Lovely quiet pitches at the top of the site fully serviced. Well stocked shop and friendly staff. Very suited to families but less so to a couple who are happy with more basic facilities.

Disliked Although the local walks are beautiful it is a bit of a trek down narrow roads to get there. We were told there is nowhere to walk directly from the site

Liked Site in general was very well organised and clean, good facilities for the most part. Pool. Peaceful spot and well located for our needs

Disliked Bit heavy on the ‘rules’ with one particularly efficacious staff member, maybe caught her on a bad day. On site food was ok but at least there was an option there. Showers could be cold if More than one person using them

Liked The clean toilets and outdoor pool
The food they served on a night time was nice especially the steak babs
Camp was very clean and monitored

Disliked The strictness of the park , children couldn’t be children this would be better as an adults only park . There were no goals or anywhere they could really kick a ball although this was advertised and the reason we booked it,
If you didn’t have a motor mover it was difficult to park your van especially when some caravans parked 2 cars in front of there’s and did not move them .
The children are not allowed on the paths with bikes etc but were mianed at when riding on the roads .
Everytime we wanted to get out the park we had to get out the car and buzz to be let out , this is difficult when you use a stick .

Local attractions

The site's fishing lake is well stocked with carp – just ask for Jim and he'll tell you all their names... Twelve Oaks Farm Caravan Park also lies halfway along the Templer Way Heritage Trail, a walking route that uses a mixture of rights of way, permissive routes and minor roads to link the seaside town of Teignmouth to Haytor on Dartmoor. The Stover Canal, which was once used to transport granite from the moors to the harbour, is also a short stroll from the park. The woodland, grassland, heathland, marsh and lake areas of the 114-acre Stover Country Park, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is half an hour's walk away. The park has a visitor centre, an aerial walkway, a bird hide and picnic areas. Also running through the country park is the Stover Trail – a traffic-free cycling route that connects Newton Abbot to Bovey Tracey, extending towards Lustleigh and Moretonhampstead in Dartmoor National Park.
