Pitches for family and group bookings
Spacious electric pitches with parking by the tent

  • Quiet family-friendly Devon campsite 10 minutes’ drive from Woolacombe
  • Exmoor National Park 15 minutes’ drive and the Tarka Trail 20 minutes
  • Dog-walking area; easy access to footpaths, a pub and public transport
Surfers, walkers and cyclists listen up… staying at Little Shelfin Farm Camping puts you in pole position for the breaks off Woolacombe Beach (10 minutes’ drive), long-distance hiking on the Tarka Trail (20 minutes) and a mere 15 minutes by car from the cycling routes in Exmoor National Park. There’s plenty more that’s good about this small and quiet family-run campsite. Set on an 80-acre working farm, the spacious pitches have plenty of room between them, with room for awnings and cars, and are on a large field with wide-open spaces so kids can have a run around. Dogs are welcomed here as well, and there’s a small run dedicated to canine exercise (please pick up after them though). You have direct access to several public footpaths from the camping field (the dogs will be pleased to get extra walkies), and there’s a bus to Woolacombe within 10 minutes’ stroll. A pub serving pizzas, steaks and fries all day is about the same distance away at Mullacott.

What customers say

This campsite boasts spacious, level sites with easy access to Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, lauded for its quiet ambiance and great value. Facilities are generally clean and functional, with hot showers. Some guests found the facilities basic, noting a lack of hand dryers and occasional waits for showers and dishwashing. Despite minor points like push-button showers and potential traffic noise, most guests deemed it a well-kept, convenient spot for exploring the region.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Able to self check-in

Disliked There was a power cut so no lighting or hot water the whole time we were there.
This can’t be helped but there was no notice to say what had happened / any source of alternate (battery operated) lighting in WCs etc

Liked Large pitch, easy access from campsite to Woolacombe, clean facilities.
We had a power cut around 6pm Saturday, and by 9am Sunday the emergency Sparkie had been and sorted it. Very satisfied.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Really liked the area. Everything we wanted was really close to the campsite. The field was flat which is great to sleep on. Toilets weren’t too far away and the shower rooms were clean and worked well. Showers were also nice and warm. The owners were friendly and easy to check in.

Disliked The campsite was backed onto the main road but that can’t be helped. And actually seemed to help my 3 year get to sleep well.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Great site with large level pitches and friendly owner

Disliked Unfortunately there is just 1 small toilet block with just 3 loos and 2 showers and 1 washing up station which when the site is full seems inadequate and which for the non-electric pitches is a long way to walk.
