A well-run, secluded site in a beautiful location. Access a bit tricky
Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked A lovely, peaceful field, conveniently located only a short walk from the glorious Putsborough beach and from Croyde village in the other direction. We were allocated a huge amount of space and there was flexibility about where to pitch. We loved having the fire pit provided. We also thought the compost toilets were very good and effective, and eco-friendly of course. It's a secluded spot, perfect for stargazing at night. The facilities near the farmhouse were very clean and convenient. We liked having somewhere to boil a kettle and charge phones, and also that there was a drying room. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Disliked It's to be expected that a secluded spot will be 'tucked away', but I did find the narrow local lanes slightly daunting (despite being a Devon girl myself!). There are passing places and you have to make a mental note of where they are. It's also a little inconvenient having a fairly long walk to the main facilities (this applies to Mrs. Tucker's Field).

From the manager: Good morning Rachel,
Thank you for your review, I am pleased you enjoyed the seclusion of our campsite and easy access to Putsborough beach and Croyde village.
We do attach an information leaflet to our camper's emails with an easier route to the farm other than following Sat Nav, Sat Nav loves the lanes! Unfortunately it is a walk from Mrs Tuckers field, our Pitchup campers are generally much closer to the farmhouse but on this occasion you opted to join your friends.
Hopefully we will see you again sometime in the future.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked Very friendly welcome and the pitch was nice and flat with a field of highland cattle in front of us. The facilities were spotless. The site is only a 10 minute walk down a scenic track (no traffic) to Croyde. The camp site is in a perfect location for the beaches - very short walk to Puttscombe and from there Woolacombe.

Great site
Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite
Liked A great campsite. Very clean, good showers, beautiful area. Would definitely visit again. Follow the directions given by the campsite rather than sat nav like I did. Got myself into a bit of a pickle. You can buy firewood on site.
Disliked Had campers next to us that thought they could play their music all day until 11pm quite loudly. Even quietly would be heard far and wide as the site is very peaceful and nobody else played music. I had to ask them to turn it off eventually at 10.30pm. Could be a little clearer if music can or cant be played and certainly not until 11pm as that would be a factor for me.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, especially the tip about the directions, sat nav seems to like the lanes!
Such a shame you were disturbed while you were here, our welcome sheet does say, in respect of other campers no loud music at any time, unfortunately the minority spoil it for others.
Everyone on site has my no which is on 24hrs a day, I am always happy to deal with any issues, hopefully it hasn't put you off visiting us again one day.
