Hiding away at Higher Twitchen Certified Location is an excellent choice for those hoping to explore Exmoor National Park and the gorgeous North Devon coastline. This small adults-only site is a peaceful place indeed – and it's one reserved for members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) only. This is a fine location for a break that mixes up countryside and coastal days – it’s just outside the western edge of Exmoor National Park and about three miles from Combe Martin and its beaches. Ilfracombe, Croyde and Woolacombe are all within 20 minutes’ drive too, for more seaside action. All of this means it's easy to fill your days with walking, cycling, surfing, horse riding, sea kayaking, fishing and all manner of other outdoor activities. Boat trips to Lundy, animal spotting at Exmoor Zoo and trips to National Trust locations can also be on the cards, as can laidback outings to local pubs and cafés. It doesn't all have to be action packed, though – the chilled-out rural atmosphere of this site means it’s also a great place for simply kicking back with a barbecue and a couple of beers. Essential facilities like a water tap, grey waste point and Elsan point are all provided, and there’s a dog walk area where any four-pawed travellers can have a good run around.

Group bookings of 3 or more units (e.g. tent, caravan, RV or accommodation hire) traveling together are not permitted via Pitchup.com.
No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.
Guests under the age of 18 are not allowed on site.
Bookings must not be for more than 28 consecutive nights.
The park caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.
Tents are not accepted at this park.
A cable measuring at least 25 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
Units longer than 7.5 metres are not allowed.
Guests are advised to bring a good quality flashlight with them as parts of the park are unlit.
Bookings must not consist of more than 2 different households.
Fires, barbecues and/or firepits will not be permitted in dry, windy and/or hot weather conditions.
The charging of electric vehicles is not permitted on site.

10 kWh of electricity is included per day. Any additional usage is metered on site at £0.2388 per kWh and must be paid at check-out.

Local attractions

There are lots of ways to get out and explore Exmoor National Park, including hikes along the South West Coast Path and inland trails. Some of the popular spots include Haddon Mouth (20 minutes' drive), Valley of Rocks (25 minutes) and Tarr Steps (40 minutes). Cycle trails and horse riding outings are also good options, or you may prefer to take it easy with a ride on the Lynton & Barnstaple Steam Railway (15 minutes). Combe Martin (five minutes) is a watersports hub where you can hire kayaks and paddleboards to explore the fairly sheltered bay around the village. For surfing, meanwhile, you’ll want to head a little way west to Croyde, Woolacombe or Saunton Sands (all within 20 minutes). Other favourites along this stretch of coast include the historic village of Clovelly (45 minutes), and the seaside town of Ilfracombe (10 minutes), for the Tunnels Beaches and boat trips to Lundy. Inland, Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum (15 minutes) makes a nice day out.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
The park will send you further check-in information 7 day(s) before your arrival.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leashes and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
The park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

General

Bookings must not be for more than 28 consecutive nights.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behavior is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
