- Peace, quiet and privacy - a real eye opener for first timers here!
- All pitches are in woodland clearings.
- This is an adult only 18+ only campsite. It is NOT a naturist site.
Hole Station Campsite is an adults only campsite situated in very rural West Devon, midway between Dartmoor and the beaches of North Cornwall and North Devon.
We have two pitch types, BYO where you bring all your own gear, and Rent-A-Tent. With the Rent-A-Tent option you only need to bring bedding, a toiletry kit, matches and a torch. Your accommodation consists of a tent of course, with easy standing height for 6 footers, airbeds supplied (double as standard, singles by request) and storage space which is as you might expect. What you won't be expecting is the fab safari type shelter which stands next to your tent.
It's for your exclusive use and includes wooden floor, back and sides, and canvas roof. Your shelter houses your dining table, benches, camp fire bench, 2 ring gas cooker, storage space, cool box, pots, frying pan, cooking implements, cutlery, dishes and plates, kettle, water, wash up kit, mugs and glasses, bottle opener and of course your fire pit and a campfire cooking grill.
The campsite is completely secluded and not overlooked, set in an idyllic 23 acre woodland which is managed for wildlife. Pitches are set off a main pathway, only 24 of them in 23 acres. Hole Station campers never feel crowded, and because we are 18+ only you aren't going to be woken by little treasures 'expressing' themselves at 6am, you won't be bothered by loud drunken parties as we have a monitored 11pm quiet time, and best of all you won't have to put up with car headlights illuminating your tent, car doors slamming or people driving to the loo at 3am. This is because cars have no access to the woods (the car park is by reception and barrows are available at loading/unloading points) and until you've camped on the rare site where this is possible, you'll have no idea how great it is not to have to put up with them!
Dogs being territorial and barking is a thing of the past too, we have very free range chickens and the two don't mix well - we'll be keeping the chickens.
Enjoy listening to other campers music all day and night at their chosen volume, adore listening to 'interesting' guitar playing and accompanying warbles, loving finding out what's going on in Corrie courtesy of your neighbours specially upgraded tv volume control? No? Excellent, both you and the indigenous wildlife will be pleased to hear that none of these things are allowed on site. Here it's all about your privacy, relaxation, and the desire to recharge in unspoilt surroundings.
Every pitch has it's own firepit and campfire bench. We sell camp fire kits that include firelighters, kindling, ad logs from reception, no need to pre-order.
Our local pub is a 20 minute walk, and there are many others within easy driving distance. We have farm shops, several supermarkets and weekly markets all nearby.
