  • Rural site with spectacular views and gorgeous sunsets
  • Under 30 minutes’ drive from Boscastle, Padstow, Polzeath and Tintagel
  • Walking distance from local pub, café and the Camel Trail cycle route
You won't find bright lights or a noisy clubhouse at Camp De Lank – just peace, quiet and laidback, friendly vibes. This grassy site in Cornwall is all about the simple pleasures of outdoor life: stargazing, barbecuing and reconnecting with nature. Camp De Lank is a peaceful place where family and friends can reconnect, unwind and explore some of Cornwall’s most celebrated spots. Longstanding locals Kaya and her grandparents, Jacqui and Jeff, all look forward to welcoming you and giving tips on the best things to do in the local area. This four-and-a-half-acre site has pitches with sweeping views over the local countryside, making Camp De Lank a spectacular place to be at sunrise and sunset. Handmade Cornish cocktails are delivered to the site once a week – get those pre-orders in to avoid missing out. There are also modern and well-maintained toilets and showers, plus nifty extras like ice pack freezing and a battery pack charging service. Camp De Lank is in the small hamlet of Lank, two miles from the edge of Bodmin Moor and half a mile from the start of the popular Camel Trail bike route. Head to the latter to set out along 18 flat, scenic and traffic-free miles, or stick closer to base and pick up drinks and snacks at an off-grid cyclists' café (10 minutes' walk).

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We loved our stay...small site with clean facilities, spacious pitches that are well kept and clearly marked with a beautiful view over the valley.
The site operates on a self check which is clearly written on a board as you drive in, along with a mobile number.
Battery and ice packs available for a small fee and an option to purchase firewood....all payable via an honesty box.
Showers, toilets and little kitchen were kept clean and always kept topped up with toilet paper, hand towels and hand wash.
We would highly recommend and do plan on returning.

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The campsite was cosy and peaceful with spacious freshly mowed pitches all looking out towards fields and countryside over the Camel valley. We enjoyed the walk up the river to the top of the village and the pub. It took about 45 mins to walk along the footpath and then 30 mins walk back down the road. We were close to Padstow and the Camel Trail as well as the beach at Polzeath. The facilities were simple but clean and the showers were nice and hot. The washing up room was clean and had hot water. There was the option to buy logs and borrow a fire pit too. Really good value for peak season. It was exactly what we wanted.

Disliked: Nothing

Bell tent

Liked: We loved our stay at Camp De Lank. The 4 of us stayed in one of the bell tents and it was so comfortable and spacious. Everything that we needed was provided, from clean bedding to cutlery, even a bbq and seating area. The toilets and showes were all clean and well maintained.

The views at sunset were just beautiful. There is plenty to do in the local area, including the Camel Trail that leads all the way to Padstow, Bodmin Moors and Bodmin Jail which the children loved.

Highly recommend this place

Liked: A lovely little gem of a site! Very peaceful and quiet. Lovely views. Nicely spaced pitches. Great facilities and added extra touches such as an honesty box (price stated) for logs, ice packs and chargers. The recycling station was great and well organised. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back again if in the area :)

Local attractions

Feeling thirsty? Get set for very mellow times at Camel Valley Vineyard (15 minutes' drive/an hour by bike via the Camel Trail), where tours, tastings and wine by the glass (or bottle) are available for fans of English red, white and sparkling wine. Not that you'll want to be sampling their wares on an empty stomach – but there are plenty of foodie spots in Wadebridge (20 minutes), Padstow (30 minutes) and Polzeath (30 minutes) to see to that… As well as the Camel Trail, popular biking spots include Cardinham Woods (20 minutes) on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor and Old Hill Bike Park (10 minutes), a family-oriented set of circuits with all-weather trails ranging from green (balance bikes suitable) through to black (experienced riders only). If horseback travel's the thing, you're also just over two miles from Hallagenna Riding, an equestrian centre with activities for all abilities. Handily, Camp De Lank is within an easy half-hour drive of the Eden Project, where huge tropical domes will take you off to all sorts of far-flung habitats.
