Wandering down to the Cornwall coast for its coves, castles and National Trust gardens? For wild camping within walking distance of the Cornwall coast, Higher Kenneggy Wild Camping’s your guy – this small, quiet site is just 35 minutes’ walk away from Prussia Cove and the South West Coast Path, 45 minutes from Praa Sands Beach and an hour and 20 minutes from St Michael’s Mount in the other direction.
Your headquarters will be in a quiet field between Penzance and Helston. There are pop-up facilities here, including a portable toilet. Plus, you’ll be well based for taking off by car, as the A394 is under half a mile away.
There’s a nice situation when it comes to sniffing out some tasty bits to eat, as the site is within walking distance of two pubs and there are small food shops you can get to on foot too (or by car, if you’re planning on a big load). There’s a restaurant down at Praa Sands beach too, in case you want to follow up your meal with a walk along the beachfront.
Another way to get your fill is with a barbecue or firepit, as both have the green light on site. Perhaps you’ll want to save some leftovers for the dog, as they’re permitted to stay with you here too.
