  • Level and well-maintained pub campsite in southern Cornwall
  • Just off the A394; Marazion five minutes' drive
  • Pub food served; very good public transport links opposite the site
Pick a pitch at Coach and Horses Camping to be closest to the very best bits of Cornwall. Sandy beaches, hidden coves and all sorts of gorgeous scenery are within easy reach of this convenient pub site, all of which are accessible via the A394. This flat and level field has a good level of basic amenities, with toilets and showers taken care of. Dogs are also welcome, and there's convenient internet access in case you need to get online while away from home. Coach and Horses Camping is located between the seaside town of Marazion (five minutes' drive) and Helston, a popular spot on the northern edge of the Lizard Peninsula. Leaving the car behind could hardly be easier, as there are regular buses that stop just opposite the site that can drop you off in Helston, Penzance and other popular destinations. The pitching field also has direct access to a traffic-free public footpath to the gorgeous seaside village of Praa Sands (about a mile away). For meals, pull up a table in the restaurant part of the pub for fine ales and fresh food. Coming for Sunday lunch? Book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Powered grass RV campsite

Liked: Not much.

Disliked: We asked for a motorhome pitch which is specified as larger. We got a space for small tent. There in no marking for pitches
As when we arrived we had no pitch as someone has take both on that electric space.

Toilets and facilities were appalling. Could not book in until 17:00 so had to wait in carpark until open after our 3 hour drive. Website says check in any time after 12:00

Road sign out the front obscures view from right making it hard to get out on a blind bend to the left.

NO ELSAN POINT FOR CHEMICAL WASTE

There was a resistant of a mobile home going out every 10 minutes at speed making it very unsafe for children and pets.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Nice and quiet.

Disliked: Pub was shut when I arrived. Spoke to a bloke on the campsite who happened to be working there staying in a van. He told me to pitch my tent. I don't know what I would have done had I had to wait several hours for the pub to open before checking in. Checked in with lady working at the bar when the pub opened later on and I paid in full. Not particularly nice welcome! No further contact from anyone for rest of the stay. Only 2 unisex loos and showers. No problem when site quiet but would be queues if it was fully booked.

Powered grass RV campsite

Liked: Pleasant welcome

Disliked: Completely unmanned site after check in so that when I needed help with the electric hook up which didn’t work, no one was there. Went to Ansafone. Had to leave and check in to a hotel instead at great expense.
