From the manager: Hi Caroline, thank you for your review, but I am not sure you have reviewed the correct site! We do not have eco toilets or showers. We have two portaloos on site, and campers can also make use of the normal toilets and showers at our neighbouring holiday park. We have two camping meadows, but they are both very sheltered, and all our pitches are along hedgerows.
Great stay, everything we wanted for a peaceful few days. Will return.

Beautiful spot near beach, but noisy campers and old showers.
Meadow 2 primitive grass tent campsite
Liked One of the best things about camping at Porthilly was the unbeatable location. Just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, it couldn’t have been more convenient—perfect for spontaneous strolls, early morning swims, or catching the sunset without needing to plan a thing. The coastline there is truly stunning, with wide open views, soft sands, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes it easy to unwind. Everything about the area felt so well cared for—clean, tidy, and clearly looked after with pride. It made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Luke, the host, was exceptionally helpful too.
Disliked While we really enjoyed our stay at Porthilly, there were a couple of things that took away from the experience. The showers, for one, felt quite outdated—they still run on 50p coins, which was a bit inconvenient, especially when you don't have change to hand. It would be great to see a more modern system put in place. The biggest issue, though, was a group of loud teenagers or young adults camping nearby. The site rules clearly state that such groups aren’t allowed, but unfortunately, they were there during our stay and caused quite a disturbance. They were up until at least 2am being loud and disruptive, and it took a couple of hours before things finally quieted down. It was disappointing, especially in such a peaceful and scenic location. A bit more enforcement of the site’s rules would really help maintain the relaxing atmosphere that makes Porthilly so special.
