  • Well-maintained pitches five minutes’ walk from Porthleven, Cornwall
  • A 10-minute drive to Helston Railway; 15 minutes to Marazion
  • On-site pub; five minutes’ walk to the beach and South West Coast Path
A family-run touring caravan and campsite located about 500 meters from the centre of the historic fishing village of Porthleven, Mill Lane Campsite is a dog-friendly spot with generous-sized, level pitches and plenty of space for all the family. The campsite is a five-minute walk from Porthleven beach, famous as one of Cornwall’s best reef breaks (are you listening, surfers?). It’s also five minutes to the South West Coast Path, making this a great base for long-distance hikers too. Porthleven village hosts the award-winning Food Festival in July, but you can eat in quirky cafes, traditional pubs or fine-dining restaurants – all serving fresh, seasonal food – any time of year. Pick up foodie supplies in the local shops – including delicious Cornish pasties – and there’s a handy supermarket too. And there’s no need to fret about keeping everyone entertained in the evenings. The on-site free house sells the world-famous Cornish ale Spingo, brewed in Helston (10 minutes’ drive), so adults are never far away from a refreshment. For the kids, there’s a pool table in the pub, as well as sport on the big screen and live music throughout the year. Bingo fans can play every Friday evening at 7pm with cash prizes.

What customers say

Great location, an easy stroll to Porthleven harbor, shops, and eateries. Staff are praised for friendliness, and pitches are spacious and clean. The on-site pub's a plus. Some find facilities a bit dated, but they're clean and functional for most. A few noted road noise and occasional toilet upkeep issues. Good value overall.

Powered grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Location, close to town (next to main road but quiet at night) level grass pitch, plentiful hot water in spacious shower and washing up stand. Clean facilities, great communication, relaxed vibe. Wifi at pitch

Disliked Nothing, only that if the campsite was full, the facilities may struggle to cope with demand, particular as no wash basins outside toilet cubicles (that I found!)

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Proximity to Porthleven and wifi

Disliked We felt this campsite was extortionate for the rather grim state of the toilet and washing facilities. The toilets and shower blocks were very tired and although we saw the cleaner just didn’t feel clean. The fact there was no outdoor hot water to wash up with was extremely disappointing. We felt this site was a missed opportunity – unfortunately we won’t be back because of the state of the facilities and cost of a pitch. Shame as the location is good.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The site is close to Porthleven about a Five minute walk to the lovely Harbour and shops and bustling market , the site has a great bar with entertainment and worth a stop . The showers and toilets are are all clean and plenty of hot water for a shower. The pitches are well set out with water close by and electric we stopped for two nights and we will come again great place to either stop for a few nights or to use as a base to visit the Lizard and some of the bays close by.
We had a dog and there was no problem everyone was very chilled out

Disliked Nothing to dislike really it ticked all the boxes

Local attractions

If you’re keen to get out on the water, Porthleven beach (five minutes’ walk) is a fantastic surfing spot, and you can take coastal cruises (try one at dusk for spectacular sunset views) or sea-fishing trips from Porthleven harbour (10 minutes). Meanwhile, at Marazion (15 minutes’ drive) it’s a short hop across the bay to the crag-top castle and gardens at Mount St Michael. Also nearby you could take a ride on the vintage trains of Helston Railway (10 minutes), or splash in the sea at sheltered Gunwalloe Church Cove Beach (20 minutes). There are plenty of family-friendly hikes along the Lizard Heritage Coast (both 20 minutes) and lots of seabirds to spot along the way. And there’s masses of art and culture in these parts too; the galleries and museums of St Ives (30 minutes) warrant a day’s attention, and there are rare plants and wacky artworks to be seen in Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens (20 minutes).
