From watersports to coastal wanders or sandy trots on horseback, a real Cornish seaside stay is in store at Mullion Pop-up Camping at Tresprisson Farm. This pop-up base on a family-run farm is fully wild-style in the Lizard Peninsula’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, half an hour’s walk from coastal walks, 35 minutes from the National Trust’s Poldhu Cove and 40 minutes from Mullion Harbour. There’s a warm welcome to this scenic, remote site surrounded by Cornish countryside and wildlife. Easily accessed from the main road, once you’ve driven down the private lane, there are back-to-nature facilities in the form of portable toilets and you’ll need your own drinking water as there's no running water on site. Now, what to set your sights on first? A swim at a local beach? A picnic or a beach café? All beaches are manned by lifeguards and except Polurrian Cove, they have public toilets and a car park. Mullion village, 10 minutes' walk away, has shops, wetsuits for hire and purchase, gifts and crafts. There's an art gallery, a 13th-century church with historic pews or a play area with climbing frames and space for ball games, plus restaurants, cafés, tearooms, fish and chip shops, takeaways and two inns with locally-sourced food and outdoor seating. Walking's a treat too – along the coastal path, there are short walks to local coves or Lizard Point and Kynance Cove a couple of hours’ walk away. And when you don’t want to use your feet, a regular bus (five minutes’ walk) runs between Mullion and Lizard.

This quiet, basic spot boasts beautiful dark skies, perfect for stargazing and campfires. The friendly, helpful owner and provided fire pit with logs were highlights. While the porta-potty was clean, the absence of an on-site water tap meant guests needed to bring plenty of their own. Long camper vans may find access tricky.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Peaceful with beautiful dark skies and bright stars. Quiet site and very basic but that is what we like and want. There is one portal op which was as clean as these can be. Sanitiser and toilet paper provided. No water tap, we have our own but should you not ensure you have plenty, common sense really. Loved the site totally.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Quiet site, close to Mullion village, dark skies and shooting stars, campfires and clean porta loo. Owner very friendly and helpful. Fire pit is in the ground dug for you by owner and 1 bag of logs, fire lighters and matches. Track in to site difficult for long wheel based camper van but I reversed in to site once up the lane fine.
Very good price!!

Disliked Needs on site tap as difficult to bring enough water and local shops only sell 2ltr bottles, no tap nearby as far as we could find.
