  • Peaceful farm site on Cornwall's Lizard Peninsula
  • Less than a mile from Mullion Cove and eight miles from Helston
  • A 15-minute walk to pubs, a chocolate factory and the village shop
What makes the Lizard Peninsula tick? Some point to its location as the most south-westerly point in Britain. For others, it's the vibrant local rocks (dark green in colour, veined with white and red). Whatever brings you here, the spectacular sunsets, comely coves and rural vistas certainly don't hurt… Located on the outskirts of Mullion, Far View is true to its name: the vistas are all about the greenery that stretches out for miles around. Fancy mixing up coast and country? With Mullion Cove under a mile away from base, this spot is handily placed for easy access to both. Guests have five acres of Cornish meadow to spread out in, with essentials such as toilets and showers taken care of on site. Human visitors share Far View with a number of permanent guests, including wallabies (you're welcome to go and see them up close), goats, horses, donkeys and guanaco. Dogs are welcome, but please bear in mind the presence of furry live-in residents if you bring them along. A 15-minute stroll takes guests up to Mullion village centre, which has two pubs, a couple of village shops and (this being Kernow) a pasty shop. There's also a chocolate factory that can be reached within 10 minutes on foot: no oompa-loompas here, but there's plenty of scope to make friends with the in-house team of llamas.

What customers say

Far View gets rave reviews for amazing ocean vistas, tranquility, and a super-friendly owner. Expect roomy sites, clean basics, farm animals, and a prime spot to explore Lizard Peninsula. Wind can be a factor; some showers are lukewarm, but it's a highly recommended stay.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked - Sea view literally from inside the tent.
- Horses and donkey right on site.
- Wallabies, emus and llamas across the road.
- Quiet, chilled out atmosphere.
- Proper toilets and showers, with handwash and toilet roll.
- Use of fridges and freezers.
- Friendly owner.
- Safe and welcoming for children.
- Lack of strong mobile signal and no WiFi.

Disliked - The wind. The location gives the amazing views, but it does catch the wind and this is worth knowing if you have a taller tent, or are not confident pitching it securely.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked For a "POP" up camp site this place offered hot running showers, clean up stations, flushing toilets and fridges. It was one massive open field not many trees or shaded areas. Children had a lovely time feeding and stroking the ponies. The village and beach are walking distance. Owner was friendly and checked on us daily offering any advice, instructions etc.

Disliked The guests are asked to clean up the toilets and showers after themselves which is fine, but only if they all actually do that, and they dont.
Open fires are lovely but in the dry heat we just had they should have been restricted.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Where do I start with this place!!?? Just stunning views, you can watch the sun set/rise above the sea. Beautiful open spacious pitches. Possibly the best showers I have ever had on a camp site that are kept clean. I'm sure young families appreciate that a shower is complete as a whole bathroom (sink, shower, toilet). I really feel like they have put thought into a visitors experience, with a communal fridge, a small utility with a kettle, microwave, charging station, books, comunal washing line and I'm sure more that I have forgotten. Then there is the zoo lol! I mean what!!! It's like a free zoo on this camp site that kids or anyone will love to walk around. The location is great, short drive to a national trust car park for a hike to the most southern point of Britain or beach (beautiful, but small and busy), half hour walk or short drive to a small dock where you can swim in clear water, or another beach that is 40 mins walk (beautiful and quiet).

Disliked The zoo is just showing off!!!! Just wow!! I keep calling it a zoo because I would walk around and find more and more animals. My hat is off :)

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Beautiful, quiet, view of the sea. Clean and peasant toilet block ( not one of these industrial style blocks! Whole shower room)

Disliked A bit far from shops, and windy road, not ideal for walking. But didn't bother us to drive.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked I really liked this site. The toilets were clean and spacious, grounds were clean. Owner very friendly. It was quiet and family friendly. I felt safe.
I wish I had realised the lockers had chargers in them earlier than the last day but i just didn't see/read the sign!
The fridge & freezer space was really helpful too.
Loved the animals too!

Disliked Nothing

Local attractions

Mullion (15 minutes' walk) has activities such as swimming, canoeing, coasteering and surfing, and it's also possible to arrange horseback jaunts along the beach here. The well-signposted South West Coast path also skirts the village, and there's a swish spa in town for treatments should you overdo the exercise. To the north, there are plenty of activities in and around Helston (20 minutes' drive). Find out about local customs at the Museum of Cornish Life (20 minutes), or head to Kynance Cove (20 minutes) to see the stunning turquoise water, rock stacks and tidal beach alongside the South West Coast Path. To the east, green-fingered guests should make tracks to Trebah Garden (35 minutes), a 26-acre subtropical oasis with spectacular coastal backdrops. A little further east, Falmouth (40 minutes) has plenty to see and do as well, including the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII.
