Small lake in the main camping field

  • Relaxed site on a small farm 10 minutes' drive from St Austell
  • Mevagissey and Lost Gardens of Heligan within 15 minutes' drive
  • Stream, lake and farm animals on site; campfire logs and eggs to buy
Pleasant indeed is life on site at Pleasant Streams Farm Camping, a relaxed rural Cornwall site a mile outside of the village of Sticker and 10 minutes’ drive from St Austell. If the name conjures up images of classic English countryside, then you’ve got it just about spot on: this is a place of pretty fields with a stream running through the site and a little lake where you can potter about in the rowing boat. The site’s ethos is on keeping things simple and natural: kids are encouraged to play on rope swings in the trees and you can all look out for wildlife including rabbits, badgers, hawks and owls. Embracing outdoor life here also means meeting the site’s resident miniature goats, Bluebell and Rosie, and the pair of pigs called Del Boy and Rodney. There are chickens and ducks on site too, and you can buy their eggs for a tasty breakfast. And what about an evening meal? Well, those can be cooked over a campfire (as long as you use one of the designated fire rings) and there are sacks of logs available to buy on site to help you along. Pick up supplies at the farm shop 10 minutes’ walk away or pop into St Austell for more shopping options. Filling your days around here should be easy – the stunning Roseland Heritage Coast is only about 15 minutes’ drive away for days out in the likes of the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey and Charlestown, or you can get to the north coast in about half an hour. In keeping with the natural ethos, facilities here are simple but guests will have access to showers and toilets (both compost loos and flushing toilets).

This peaceful, beautiful site has a wildlife pond. Guests love the clean, warm showers, friendly owners, and great location for beaches/towns. Facilities are basic but mostly clean. Some report weak phone signal & no dishwashing. Great value with stargazing!

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Nicely maintained and pleasing surroundings. Ducks roam around. Clean facilities. Easy to find. Friendly and accommodating owner. Good price. Level pitches on short grass. No set pitches so go where you want.

Disliked The access track to the camping field has a 90 degree corner to get around with a 4ft drop to a stream opposite. No problem for most vehicles but I was quite concerned edging my 5.5m camper van around it. Once on the site the owner said i could leave by a different route, which was fine but it would have been nice to know about it on the way in. Sign says reception open 2 hrs. per day, but could not find it. No washing up facilities. Toilet cubicles very small. Quite noisy after dark but that may have been just that night.
