Pleasant Streams Farm Camping: Lake at the centre of the site

General

  • Relaxed site on a small farm 10 minutes' drive from St Austell
  • Mevagissey and Lost Gardens of Heligan within 15 minutes' drive
  • Stream, lake and farm animals on site; campfire logs and eggs to buy

Pleasant indeed is life on site at Pleasant Streams Farm Camping, a relaxed rural Cornwall site a mile outside of the village of Sticker and 10 minutes’ drive from St Austell.

If the name conjures up images of classic English countryside, then you’ve got it just about spot on: this is a place of pretty fields with a stream running through the site and a little lake where you can potter about in the rowing boat. The site’s ethos is on keeping things simple and natural: kids are encouraged to play on rope swings in the trees and you can all look out for wildlife including rabbits, badgers, hawks and owls.

Embracing outdoor life here also means meeting the site’s resident miniature goats, Bluebell and Rosie, and the pair of pigs called Del Boy and Rodney. There are chickens and ducks on site too, and you can buy their eggs for a tasty breakfast. And what about an evening meal? Well, those can be cooked over a campfire (as long as you use one of the designated fire rings) and there are sacks of logs available to buy on site to help you along. Pick up supplies at the farm shop 10 minutes’ walk away or pop into St Austell for more shopping options.

Filling your days around here should be easy – the stunning Roseland Heritage Coast is only about 15 minutes’ drive away for days out in the likes of the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey and Charlestown, or you can get to the north coast in about half an hour.

In keeping with the natural ethos, facilities here are simple but guests will have access to showers and toilets (both compost loos and flushing toilets).

Please note

Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Every corner of this site was stunning.
We arrived and pitched our tent under a trea by a stream of water that lullaby us for the all time.

There are lakes with beautiful views of wild plants and gorgeous lotus flower you can go in with the rowing boat.
You can use freezer facilities and find your little corner of heaven with ducks and gooses strolling next to your tent.

The owner Tony, was really friendly and told us about the story of the land and how they transformed it to such beautiful paradise.

Everything is well organised but also kept natural. We’ve been to different campsites -all very nice, but THIS IS SPECIAL.

Also no strong wi-Fi signal -I loved it, as it really allowed us to switch off from our phones.

Absolutely beautiful setting with everything we needed. There were 8 of us camping all together; 3 adults and 5 children ranging in ages from 3-13. Hot showers, clean toilets, designated fire pits for each pitch and the added bonus of having beautiful grounds and lakes to explore. The rowing boats were a huge hit! Only downside was there was no signal/wifi which was slightly annoying when looking at maps and/or trying to book/plan our local days out. But all in all, a very pleasant stay!

Loved the simplicity of this campsite. Facilities are basic but showers were lovely and hot and toilets were clean. Campsite itself is peaceful, owners are really chilled, and it’s a beautiful spot with lovely big ponds, gorgeous geese, and crazy chickens!
Good location for Mevagissey, Charlestown, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project, etc.

    Disliked:

Nothing to dislike. Some might dislike that there is no WiFi but I think it’s an absolute bonus!
