  • Grass pitches at a family-run site five minutes' drive from Polzeath
  • South West Coast Path 15 minutes' walk; Padstow 35 minutes' drive
  • Peaceful site with no large groups allowed; dogs welcome
Spectacular sunsets across Padstow Bay; swimming, castle building and learning to surf on Polzeath beach; and easy access to the South West Coast Path – what more does anyone want from their Cornish holiday? (Okay, perhaps the occasional cream tea… but that’s also easy to find round these parts.) And by staying at Lundynant Holidays, you can have all that at your fingertips. This intimate family-owned site, in a valley about a mile outside Polzeath (five minutes’ drive, or a 20-minute walk), has spacious grass pitches surrounded by lush vegetation. The owners pride themselves on having created a relaxing oasis, and in order to maintain the peaceful vibe, they have decided not to have an on-site bar. This is not an issue at all, as there are plenty of places to have a drink in Polzeath or in nearby Rock (10 minutes). Another measure they have taken to ensure everybody gets the R&R they need is not accepting groups or under-18s without their parents. They do welcome dogs, though (as long as they are kept on a lead while on site). Barbecues are also allowed, and you can source all your grillables at the well-stocked convenience store in Polzeath, at the butcher’s in Rock (where there’s also an excellent bakery) or in Wadebridge (15 minutes), which has a handful of large supermarkets. On-site facilities include a toilet block (with coin-operated showers) and a washing-up area with hot water, plus a launderette and a communal freezer.

Power optional grass campsite (medium)

Liked Proximity to the beach
Easy check in with really friendly staff
Pitch was nice
Facilities were clean

Disliked Absolutely no fault of the site, but large family groups in the camping area were noisy until late (although adhered to the curfew). It was half term though, so probably fair enough!

Power optional grass campsite (medium)

Liked Location with easy walk into Polzeath.
Great walking and access to South West Coast Path.
Secluded valley.
Lashing of hot water in showers.
Very quiet (out of season)
Lovely reception staff - very helpful.

Disliked Facilities a little tired but undergoing a face-lift whilst we were there.
Not a dislike, sloped pitches so you will need levelling ramps on most pitches.

Power optional grass campsite (large)

Liked Very spacious pitch. Site is lovely and quiet, so relaxing. Beautifully landscaped and very pretty. People running site are friendly and very helpful. Great location. A short walk out the back of the site, through another site to get to village. A quirky rum bar in village open from 7. Nice roof top bars and restaurants. Beautiful beach. Fantastic coastal walks.

Disliked Nothing, although the toilets at camper/tent end could do with a good refresh. It did say under renovation so good that their on it 😀

Power optional grass campsite (medium)

Liked Lovely pitches with a path that brings you straight away to the beach, bars and food. Very pleasant welcome g at réception desk

I also liked a very friendly robin who was not afraid to share my meal with me

Disliked 50p coins for hot water...🙄 (Shower and for dishes). The last thing I want on holidays is to stress about 50p coins or stress about réception time opening to make some change!

Liked Very spacious, beautiful pitches. Staff were very friendly on arrival. Such a peaceful vibe to it. Great walk to the beach (literally 10 minutes). Great location overall. Showers were amazing, toilets need some but you can see that they're renovating them. Will definitely be staying again!

Power optional grass tent campsite (small)

Liked Location and nice pitches

Disliked Payed showers not very obvious before booking uad no cash and was generally inconvenientconsidering we had paid £25 for a grass pitch, small tent and no electricity, no hot water for doing dishes.

From the manager: Sorry you were disappointed in our showers during your stay in April. I shall make sure the description on Pitchup says about the coins, we have started a programme of improvement works on the facilities recently. We always let people know about the coins when you check in so you can get some if needed.

Hot water is now free for washing dishes and I can only apologies if it wasn't working during your stay.

Liked This campsite is lovely!
It was so peaceful and the pitches are huge!
It's about a 10 minute or less walk to the beach and the facilities were nice and clean. 50p for a 6 minute hot shower which is pretty good.
I really liked it here and would absolutely stay again if coming to Polzeath. Definitely worth £28 for the night. Thankyou!

Local attractions

The South West Coast Path can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot (or five minutes’ drive). Follow it north to the distinctive twin headland known as The Rumps (where you can check out the ruins of an Iron Age hill fort) and beyond to Pentire Point. Here you might spot dolphins and seals, as well as catching distant views of Tintagel Castle. Thrill rides at Camel Creek Family Adventure Park (half an hour' drive) include a drop tower and a swinging pirate ship. If you don’t have the stomach for those (or if your kids don’t reach the height required), there are plenty of other attractions, such as gentle rollercoasters, indoor play areas and a petting zoo. Take a stroll along the harbour at Padstow (35 minutes), stopping for fish and chips with a view of the water. Then join a fishing trip with one of several harbour-based agencies, or a wildlife watching safari. Seals usually make an appearance, as do shags and cormorants.
