  • Peaceful family site five miles from Land's End and stunning beaches
  • Play area, dog exercise field and TV room
  • Five minutes' walk from village with shop, pub and post office
Go west… and then west some more, for the highly stunning scenery around lush Land's End and Tower Park Caravans and Camping, in the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Penwith peninsula. Land's End is five miles from this scenic site (John O'Groats is 833 miles, in case you were curious), and it's four miles or about 10 minutes by car to Cornish coast and sands at Porthcurno, an award-winning beach overlooked by the fab Minack Theatre. The also-spectacular Sennen Cove and its famed surf is 10 minutes to the west from here. Closer to home, it's a five-minute stroll from the site to St Buryan village, where there's a pub, a shop and a post office. This is a peaceful and family-run place, among splendid scenery and with plenty of room on accommodation areas and around the site. Facilities include a play area and a TV room, along with well-kept essentials including modern showers and toilets, a launderette and a disabled-access shower room. A small shop and takeaway food are available in high season. Tower Park welcomes dogs and has an exercise field for four-legged guests.

A clean, well-kept site with roomy, flat spots. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great location for beaches and sights. Showers are a bit dated & short, but most visitors had a great time and want to return.

Liked What a lovely site! So peaceful, clean, friendly, good size pitches, small shop, laundrette, etc. 5 mins walk to a local pub with good food, fish and chip van visits the site 2/3 times a week. We used the bus service from the village (5 min walk) £10 for a family day rider, got to Sennen, Marazion, Mousehole. Would definitely visit again, we’ve loved staying there.

FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked We had a great two week stay. Met by friendly staff and welcomed to the site. Offered a great pitch which was also nice and private travelling with an anxious dog this was perfect. Our son enjoyed the park and making so many friends. We didnt see him most days. Facilities were great and kept clean. We had everything we needed during our stay.

Disliked Our only concern was the speed cars travelled through the campsite. Couldn't believe the speed some people drove on the grass next to the play area. Maybe an improvement idea would be some logs or stones around the park to stop this.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked It was a really lovely campsite, with a friendly welcome from the start, with helpful staff on hand from the point of booking.

We were able to choose our own pitch and had a choice from a number of fields, all of which were divided with a variety of trees, hedges, shrubs, hydrangeas, some palms and other flowers too.

The facilities were fabulous, there was never a queue or a 'rush hour', we didn't have to wait once to use any of them.

The bathroom and dishwashing areas were kept clean and it was helpful to have a wetsuit washing area.

There was plenty of space for the children to run around and explore, and it felt safe to let them do so. They enjoyed the playground and especially the toy Jeep.

The setting is lovely, surrounded by beautiful countryside and fields, with a big open sky. We enjoyed seeing the sunsets as well as the super moon rising this week. The house martins and swallows darting around in the late afternoon were wonderful to watch.

The location was great for exploring the far West of Cornwall - we were in the car for no more than 20 minutes for any of our day trips. We enjoyed exploring the local beaches and coves, finding some secret places as well as the more well-known sites of interest.

The local village takes 5 minutes to walk to and has a useful shop for supplies. The local church, St Buryan was wonderful, we joined their 9:30 service on Sunday, following the sound of the bells, and had a very warm welcome and an inspiring and refreshing morning there.

Just a lovely place to stay, we've come back feeling refreshed and energised.

Disliked Only a very minor issue but the shower push-button didn't last very long and the water pressure and temperature sometimes dropped.

Local attractions

Spend significant time on your west Cornish hol at Porthcurno, the stunning big beach that's rightly famed for its views, fine sands and clean water (if you're a connoisseur of the BBC's Poldark, you may spot that Porthcurno is the body double for Nampara Cove). There are – but of course – spectacular views from the cliffs above, where you can access the South West Coast Path if you're feeling active, or take in a show at the Minack Theatre if not. Porthcurno's also home to the award-winning Telegraph Museum, an interactive and family-focussed place that tells the tale of how the village was once the most connected area on the planet. From Porthcurno, it's about 20 minutes' drive to Penzance, 40 minutes to St Ives and half an hour to famed St Michael's Mount, the tidal island just offshore of the town of Marazion. You'll also be within easy reach of outdoorsy pursuits like surfing, fishing, sailing, kayaking, diving and climbing, and among weeks' worth of wildlife watching and birdwatching: dolphins, basking sharks, seals, leatherback turtles, Cornish choughs and peregrine falcons are among the many species to see.
