  • Family- and dog-friendly site a mile from stunning Mousehole harbour
  • Ramblers’ paradise: easy access to the South West Coast Path
  • A 25-minute drive from Land's End, 20 minutes from top surfing spots
Cornish beaches, busy towns and a scenic fishing village with a great story… You get it all at Mousehole Camping, a peaceful family site in the village of Paul, five minutes’ drive from Mousehole and 15 minutes from Penzance. Mousehole Camping is a prime spot to base yourself for some exploration of Cornwall: in nearby Penzance, you can pick up the South West Coast Path and the St Ives Bay Line, bringing the dog along so the two of you can call into some of the dog-friendly pubs along the route. Make your way into Mousehole and down to the harbour to laze on the beach or do as the locals do and fish… then wander the cobbled streets, nose around galleries and local shops, and eat at the fishy-focused restaurants. Back on site, Mousehole Camping is in the grounds of a local football club, where matches can occur at short notice (the site tries to minimise the disruption but bear this in mind). Guests get free entry to the football matches, where a clubhouse bar is open on match days. The facilities (a couple of minutes' walk from the main camping area) are shared with the football club and include a toilet, showers (within the changing rooms) and an accessible toilet/shower room. On match days, the shower and washing-up area are shut, while the toilets remain open, and during low season, only the accessible toilet/shower room are open (and cleaned on an ad-hoc basis). There's also wifi. Barbecues are allowed: pick up supplies from the supermarkets in Penzance or fresh fish from the port in Newlyn, five minutes away. If you’d prefer a break from cooking, stroll to the village pub for some food and drinks, or try one of the restaurants within 15 minutes of the site. Please note that this site is run by volunteers. From mid-September until Easter, there are no permanent staff on site. As a peaceful site, music should be kept to a minimum and quiet hours begin at 10pm.

Great location, peaceful site with helpful staff. Flat pitches perfect for exploring. Clean, basic facilities shared with a football club. Some found the walk to amenities long, but overall excellent value and highly recommended.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked Pitches flat , handy for local pub at Paul.shower was powerful water hot.

Disliked Only one shower, it was a good walk to the showers and toilet.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your review Keith. We note that you liked our large flat camping pitches and that the showers were hot with good pressure despite the short walk around the pitch. And, yes, the local village pub is only a 5 minute flat walk from the site!! 😊
Thanks again and safe onwards travels,

Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked Really great views and a flat campsite was a bonus! The hosts were lovely, really welcoming. Great access to Mousehole, down hill by bike, and virtually off-road all around the coast - travelled to Marazion through Newlyn and Penzance - lovely ride and almost flat all the way. A great location with good facilities and easy access, especially with bikes.

Whilst the loos were a walk away - they were really clean and cared for - even though it is AFC Mousehole facilities.

Fantastic to have WiFi!

Loved that the house martins were nesting in the ladies loos - lovely to hear the chicks cheeping 💜🧡

Disliked Walk to toilets - although not too bothersome so hasn’t lost stars 🌟 .

Thanks for your kind review and we’re very happy that you enjoyed your stay at our quirky campsite!!
We try and make improvements every year and our next project is the construction of a new access road at the top of the site so that campers will be able to avoid the current rough access through the village.
Same location and friendliness, better access 💜🧡

Power optional grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked The site was lovely, flat grass pitches. Great location. Has a cricket ground and a football pitch.

Disliked The road up to the campsite has massive potholes and you can’t dodge them.

The showers and toilets are in the football clubhouse, which is a bit of a trek from the pitches. The showers are communal showers.

From the manager: Jon
Thanks for your review.
We explain in our information and on arrival that the showers are shared with the football club so they are a short walk around the pitch.
However, we hope that you found them to be clean and that the showers were hot with good pressure.
We also hope that you found the staff to be helpful, friendly and welcoming.
Regarding the access road, a new tarmac road is being constructed in July which should improve access for campers as part of our ongoing improvements programme.
Thanks again for your review,

Liked Close to Mousehole, friendly staff at the football club

Disliked Facilities are far from the pitches, I’d hate to be in a tent and having to get out for the loo in the night! Shower room in need of attention- mould, flaky paint, rusty holders. The shower didn’t get hot either. This site was expensive at £25 for the night given the poor facilities in comparison to other cheaper sites. Had it been a tenner cheaper I’d have given a much better review as you get what you pay for!

From the manager: Hi,

Thanks for leaving a review. Sorry to see you didn't enjoy your stay.
We do wish you had notified us a out the shower at the time, unfortunately surely the trip switch to the power shower had tripped. This would have been a 30 second fix if we had known.

Maybe try us again in the summer, when our full facilities are open and the weather is better.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked Great location for walking & only a few miles from Land's End.
Mousehole is a short walk (although a big hill) and is beautiful.
Great food at the pub 5 minutes walk away.
Plenty of room for the dogs.
Enjoyed the football!

Disliked Only one unisex toilet/shower room for the whole site unless the football toilets were open. On a Saturday morning there was a queue of 4 people and you had no idea whether someone was in the shower or how long you would have to wait. However, it was clear when booking that the site had limited shower/toilet facilities during low season.

From the manager: Hi,

Thanks for leaving us a review, glad you enjoyed your stay and the area around.

Glad you were aware of our facilities at the time of your stay.
Our full facilities are now open, so if you do come back, hopefully there won’t be such a queue.

Please note that the access road from Newlyn is narrow. To access the site, you will need to go over a small ramp, so this site is not recommended for motorhomes over seven metres. When arriving from Penzance, do not use the road via Mousehole village, as it is narrow and unsuitable for larger vehicles. Instead, take the B3315 (Chywoone Hill) from Newlyn, which is signposted Paul and Land’s End.

Local attractions

Fans of BBC costume drama Poldark will find plenty to keep them occupied around here, with many names and places to recognise: Godolphin House, the mines at Botallack and Levant, and Porthcurno beach (Nampara Cove) are all within half an hour of Mousehole Camping and all worth a visit. Of course, if your passions lie less in TV drama and more in the arts, you won’t be let down – catching a show at the Minack Theatre, an open-air theatre carved into the cliffs above Porthcurno, is an absolute must. You can’t very well make a trip to this part of Cornwall and not visit the most westerly point of mainland England… Land’s End is a 25-minute drive from Mousehole Camping. Be sure to get a photo with the famed sign, and stop for a Cornish cream tea before you leave. Anyone drawn to the ocean will have plenty to do too: the top-notch surfing beach at Sennen is 20 minutes away, boat trips out to the Scilly Isles leave Penzance regularly, and the stunning St Michael’s Mount is a short walk along a causeway or an even shorter boat journey from the coast.
