The view of the Valley at Kestle View, south facing - a real sun-trap!
New
A great view from our south facing campsite - can it get any better?
Beautiful view from our tent.
Beautiful view this morning

  • Simple, peaceful site five minutes' walk from a bus stop for Newquay
  • Fistral surfing beach 15 minutes’ drive; Holywell Bay 20 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pop-up with valley views; pubs within 15 minutes’ walk
When what you want is peace, space for the kids to play and no-frills facilities on a Cornwall holiday, Kestle View comes up trumps in all three cases. This quiet pop-up site just south of Newquay sits in a four-acre field on a rural farm, where you can pick your own pitch at a site that's got masses of space for kids to be kids. It's just a five-minute walk away from a bus stop for Newquay, which makes it a breeze for guests to get to and from sandy beaches and other attractions. Amenities stretch only to loos; there is no hot water or electricity available (come prepared with bottled water and torches), so your stay will certainly be an adventure without lots of modern amenities. When you’re feeling like really going wild, there’s woodland at the bottom of the field with several suitable spots for pitching up. You can also pitch alongside the small river running through the farm, exercise any family dogs (or the kids) on waterside walks or choose shaded spots overlooking the river for family picnics. Newquay supermarkets and pubs are 10 minutes’ drive away, it’s easy to get to the local surfing beaches, and there’s a surfboard shop with a repair service in Kestle Mill, within five minutes’ stroll of the site. There's a railway station in Quintrell Downs, one mile from the site, along with a small supermarket and several pubs.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Beautiful peaceful setting, toilets, water and somewhere for your rubbish, very quiet

Disliked there should be a notice saying not suitable for Motorhomes the track is very rough. We went up in an 8 m motorhome. All the trees were scratching the top of the roof and we were scraping the underside in places.

From the manager: Thanks you for your kind comments we work hard to keep our beautiful site clean and tidy. With regards to the track there are directions when you book which give a different post code and take you down the track which is a much better road and is suitable for arctic lorries - unfortunately some people don't read what is put:

"Please use the post code TR8 4PD to reach The Two Clomes pub. Go down the tarmac lane (Bridle Way) beside the pub, and follow it through Sunnyside residential park, then onto the lane. Take the first left, over the cattle grid, and the site is immediately on the right."

We hope to see you again in the future. Thanks

Well worth the money.

Liked “Perfect Relaxing Stay” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
had such a relaxing and peaceful stay here! The campsite was spotless, especially the toilets, which were kept beautifully clean. The farmer regularly checked in to make sure everything was okay, which made us feel really welcome and well looked after.

It’s only a short drive into Newquay, and there are a couple of lovely local pubs within a short walk too. The site is also very dog-friendly, which was perfect.

Overall, a fantastic stay friendly, clean, and peaceful. Highly recommend!
