Liked: Available at short notice.

Disliked: I don't normally leave reviews but wish I'd paid attention to the ones already left before I booked this stay. The site is quite small but one of the fields backs onto the main road (60mph) and our pitch was directly next to it. Noisy from early to late. The roaming birds are a novelty, but we had to stop the turkeys clawing at our tent multiple times. Finally, the washing facilities were awful. Absolutely caked in cobwebs, dead spiders and insects etc. We've stayed in lots of places and this was the worst I've seen. My son is scared of spiders and refused to shower after the first visit. Cleanliness is substandard. Nothing at all to entertain children. We won't stay here again.

Liked: Beautiful location, with great easy access to main road leading to local amenities/areas. Owners were extremely welcoming, friendly and approachable. Toilets, shower blocks and utility areas were great and very clean. Children absolutely loved the chickens and turkeys running around, especially “Gorgeous George”

Liked: We have just come back from a fantastic fortnight at this great camp site. It was our first time camping in a long time. Everything you need showers , toilets, washing up facilities and a washer and dryer if you needed it. Hosts were really lovely and informative and nothing was to much trouble. Turkeys and chickens roaming free which was lovely. Its located near lizard point, which has good eating places. We will definitely be back to this campsite it was fantastic!

Liked: Lovely site, ideal for a peaceful break away. Owners really friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Lovely to see the chickens and turkeys roaming around. Quiet location. No light pollution at night, so a rare chance to see how beautiful our skies can be. Close to amenities and lots of beautiful places to visit within easy distance by car. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again soon.

Disliked: No dislikes, but a couple more toilet/shower blocks would be useful when the site is full. However, never found it a problem during our stay.

Liked: The owners are excellent so friendly helpful and patient especially with the children on site. Great to see free range poultry roaming around. Location is great for the Lizard. Facilities are good.

Disliked: The inability of people to understand they are not the only ones on site. Things are designed not for the sake of it but for a reason and for everyone. It’s by a main road.

Local attractions

You'll be on the beach, cliffs and along the South West Coast Path first, probably… and after that, there's loads to do around Little Trethvas Holidays, from fishing and sailing to horse riding and off-road biking. As with much/most of Cornwall, the surf is pretty spectacular around this part of coast too, but it's quieter here than more famed surf spots like Newquay: try Kennack Sands or the surf school at Poldhu Cove. Kids will likely love a whirl around Flambards theme park at Helston and have a hoot at Gweek's Cornish Seal Sanctuary; Falmouth Maritime Museum and the 650 birds and animals of the Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary at Hayle should also be hits. One of the most popular places to stop off around the Lizard is the country's tip at Land's End – be sure to get your pic snapped at the iconic signpost – and another is most lovely St Michael's Mount, the tiny island with medieval church and castle, reached across the water from Marazion.
