So much space for families to play and meet new friends

  • Spacious unallocated pitches suitable for families, groups and dogs
  • Near to the South West Coast Path, beaches and attractions
  • Campfires and groups welcome; enclosed dog exercise field on site
To list the excellent pursuits that can be sought out from Lamarth Farm Campsite would take some time: coastal walks, cycling trails, National Trust beaches or clifftops, Poldark locations, mining trails, castles and activities such as surfing, paddleboarding, fishing, horse riding, coasteering and golfing… That’s partly down to the fact that this family-run farm site’s patch of land is at the gateway to the Lizard Peninsula. It's a simple and uncomplicated place surrounded by Cornish countryside and run by Rachel, Luke and the boys. Take in the valley views across Mounts Bay while cradling a hot choc or a glass of wine by the campfire. The pitch sizes are unrestricted, so there’s plenty of space to unwind, and well-behaved dogs are very welcome (four can join you for free, and you can add extras if you have a multi-dog group). There’s a designated enclosed dog exercise field, three dog-friendly beaches a short drive away and a great dog-friendly pub in Gunwalloe village, five minutes' drive away. Don’t worry on the food front either. Ice cream and pasties are easy to find locally, and there are shops in Helston, Mullion and Mawgan for essentials. Facilities are kept to just the basics with a clean and well-maintained male shower block and a female shower block with baby changing facilities. There are two partially covered sinks for washing up, a fridge-freezer for ice packs and other bits and sockets for charging battery packs. The large grass field also has a central recreational area for kids to run around, fly a kite or play games. Lamarth Farm is a working farm, so expect to see and hear lots of tractors (just don’t enter the yard area). There’s no livestock, but there are some chickens, pygmy goats and ducks, so fresh eggs are available to purchase at the top of the lane daily. You may also see helicopters and gliders passing overhead from the nearby naval base.

Mike W. 1 review

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Very large field with a sea view between two hills.

Disliked A bit noisy from road occasionally.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review Mike, glad you enjoyed your stay.
You chose the best spot for the wonderful sea view down the valley but over the hedge is the 'B road' to the village you do occasionally hear cars/ tractors. Also being so high at the top of the field the main road to the Lizard Peninsula can be heard at peak times. I hope this doesn't deter you from coming again, we'd love to welcome you and direct you to a quieter spot.

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Loved our two night stay. Great to choose your own pitch. Clean facilities and hot water.

Disliked Drinking water tap with hose shared with the grey water disposal point

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review, I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay with us.
Thank you for highlighting something about the hose - its something being a new-ish site that has never been mentioned to me before.. all of the water taps are drinking so I have new signage and removed the hose to save any confusion going forward with campers.
We hope to see you again on your travels.

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked I really liked the rustic feel. I loved the little shed with the toys for kids and books for adults. The chickens and goats round the corner were lovely. The free use of a fire pit and being able to buy logs on site was brilliant. Great communication from the owner. Nearby shops if you need anything and close to beaches. Overall a lovely campsite and we would definitely go back but for longer next time.

Disliked Was very windy for the one night we stayed so would recommend wind breakers.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you Rhiannon for your review- glad you liked the relaxed rustic vibe! Back to basics with a few added extras to exceed expectations. It can be a windy site when the wind is not from the prevailing direction where we have shelter - i may actually look into getting a few windbreaks for please to use when staying. Thank you

Roof tent primitive grass tent campsite

Liked The friendly community feel and everything needed was provided (and some). The site is well kept with good facilities and hot water in the showers which is what is needed after a long walking day! The space you are given isn’t constrained and you feel you are in the outdoors as you want to be ☺️

From the manager: Thank you for your review Aimee, pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay in your RTT. You certainly made the most of your days with some great walks- we hope to see you again when visiting this part of the SWCP again. Rachel
