  • Quiet Cornwall camping meadow with amazing views over Tamar Lake
  • A 15-minute drive to the Tarka Trail, and beaches and shops in Bude
  • Rural location with pubs, a café, hiking, cycling and surfing close by
In search of some spectacular views on your Cornwall break? Peaceful and family-friendly Tamar Meadow could be the place – it's set in a meadow overlooking Tamar Lake and with lovely views to Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. Standing in the pitching field, you can also spot Brentor Church and Princetown on the top of the moor. With a handy location only five minutes’ drive minutes from the A39, access to the site is via a quiet country lane. Local shops, pubs and takeaways are close by too. Venture out another 10 minutes in the car and you find yourselves in the seaside resort of Bude, with its surfing beach, pubs, cafés, restaurants and a good collection of high street and independent shops. Back on site, there’s a communal firepit for you to cosy up around – logs are available and barbecues are welcome. There are no showers, but facilities do stretch to a mains-water standpipe, portable toilets, recycling bins and a blue waste tank. Your canine chums are welcome, but please do pick up after them (a waste bin is provided by the entrance gate into the pitching field). Part of said field has been sown to provide food for birds in winter, while another section is being replanted as a wildflower meadow with a mixture of blooms for insects and pollinators – and the ancient woodland next to the camping field is a haven for wildlife.
