  • Dog-friendly Boscastle site one kilometre from the Cornish coast
  • A five-minute drive to the beach and 10 minutes from Tintagel Castle
  • South West Coast Path, pubs, local bus route and shops all walkable
If you’re searching for a stay with sea views and the rather spellbinding Merlin’s Cave and Tintagel Castle 10 minutes’ drive away, tuck yourself away at Green Lane Campsite in Boscastle. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Cornwall coast, this dog-friendly site’s spell is sea views and peaceful surrounds – it's five minutes’ drive away from Bossiney Cove (spot the Elephant Rock and caves marked out in the cliffs or just lounge around in the sand) and under five minutes' drive away from Boscastle Harbour. Surrounded by the harbour village, a National Trust site, things are pretty peaceful on the site. There are sea views to North Cornwall, Devon and Lundy – and when you want the ocean even closer, it's a 10-minute walk to get to the South West Coast Path. Pick your potion… there’s a 16th-century pub 10 minutes’ walk away from the site serving both food and drinks with a beer garden if you want to put up your feet outside. If you’re after somewhere to eat with a harbour view, there are several pubs, restaurants and cafés, 20 minutes’ walk away in the harbour too. Planning on making sandwiches or stashing up some snacks to power you through the day? Handily, there’s a bakery and a couple of food shops around the harbour. Gather some goods for a barbecue or campfire, as they’re both permitted back on site.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The site is in a good location for Boscastle, about a 15 minute walk to the centre. Pub and convenience store very near. Lovely views. Owner responded quickly when I called and came to say hello which was nice. The site is as advertised, basic with a clean toilet and water.

Disliked Field does have a bit of a slope but there is a higher field which may be flatter.

Liked Stunning sea view. Tap close by.

Disliked Only one toilet that you had to trek down a lane to get to. Calling toilets unisex implies there's more than one actual toilet, this was just one toilet in a plastic shed. We wont be staying again but if you have your own toilet it could work.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The views, the peacefulness, the campfires, the stunning walks and the proximity to Boscastle village and pubs. Plus the owner was super friendly and helpful. And a great field at the top for letting the dog run around and enjoy chasing the rabbits and birds!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely campsite, ring on arrival with a friendly and informative man of the facilities. Very clean.
Wonderful views and very close to Tintagel and Boscastle where there are a couple shops for little bits.
There is also the costal path close by where there are some ponies roaming.

Disliked Some parts were more hilly than others but nothing unmanageable

Primitive cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked It’s a field with very basic facilities, however the views are spectacular. The walk up to the site from Boscastle is steep, however it’s worth the effort.

Disliked No showering facilities.

Local attractions

Let Tintagel Castle (10 minutes’ drive) work its magic… the heritage castle ruins have a tattered bridge between the cliffs and legends of King Arthur to learn about inside. It’s likely you’ll want to pair the trip with a visit to the small cove and Merlin’s Cave (10 minutes) down below, a sea cave where the famed wizard was believed to have lived. Complete your visit to Tintagel with a woodland walk to the waterfall at St Nectan's Glen (five minutes). If all the magic sparks your interest, continue to Boscastle, which is home to the world’s largest witchcraft collection at The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic (five minutes). There are plenty of things to do around Boscastle and its harbour, including an uphill hike to the Pentargon Waterfall (five minutes). Pick and choose which beach to go to: perhaps search through the rockpools and catch a wave at Crackington Haven (15 minutes) or opt for seal-spotting at Buckator Beach (10 minutes). If you’re after some family-friendly amusement, muddle your way through the maze and jump on the railway at Hidden Valley (25 minutes). Trethorne Leisure Park (25 minutes) is in this area too, a good stop for soft play, bowling or a round on the dodgems.
