Rainbow over the farm
South downs sheep grazing in the field

  • Simple, peaceful grass pitches at a family farm in the South Downs
  • Just over half a mile from the South Downs Way by bridleway
  • Farm shop and firepit for barbecue cooking; 10 mins' drive to Arundel
The grass pitches at Cokes Farm are peaceful, rural and part of a family farm in the tiny hamlet of West Burton, in the southern stretch of the South Downs National Park. About 10 minutes’ drive away from Pulborough, you’ll be well away from traffic noise and street lights, and in a very good spot for walks and bike rides by day and stargazing by night (the South Downs are recognised as a dark sky park so the starry displays should be pretty good). Those walks/rides might just take you over to the village, or they might take you up onto the top of the Downs for views out towards Brighton and the Isle of Wight. For a closer look at the sea, you can reach the coast with a drive of about 20 minutes. The South Downs Way is just over half a mile's walk away along a bridleway. The facilities on site extend to a small shed with hot-water showers and a flushing toilet. One of the real highlights is the farm shop, which sells eggs, bacon, fruit and veg (along with detergents for the inevitable washing-up). A firepit is provided if you’d like to have a go at barbecue cooking. Anything you can’t buy on site should be available in the shops of the local towns – as well as Pulborough, Arundel, Petworth and Storrington are all within a 15-minute drive. There are plenty of eateries in those towns too, or you could head to the local pub, a 20-minute stroll away.

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Welcoming host, peaceful and quiet at night — even with a full moon, it was dark enough for excellent stargazing. Set in a charming farm environment with a fantastic location right next to the South Downs National Park, near Bignor Hill and the lovely village of Arundel with its outdoor lido. Worthing is also close by, perfect for breakfast after check-out. Check-in and check-out times were more generous than most other places — a much-appreciated bonus.

Primitive grass and earth tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely friendly place to camp! Open field with own fire pits and cute little farm shop which is open 24 hours which has basically everything you might need for camping such as milk bacon butter eggs and more! So many chickens so plenty of eggs to go around. There is an honesty box but you can also do bank transfer if you don't have cash. There were also boxes of eggs that were quite small or had small shell damage that they had put for FOC so I thought that was a nice little touch. Little treehouse with slide and swings for kids in the shade so perfect on a hot day which is what we had! Owners were so lovely and friendly, Ken came over to every new arrival the night they came to make sure everyone was okay which we thought was great. And he was so nice and friendly! Lots of space for kids to play and close to Littlehampton beach.

Disliked Only thing would say is maybe try and do another block for showers. Only one block there at the moment with 2 toilets and 1 shower. When it's busy I'm guessing that can be abit difficult
