  • Spacious family-friendly and dog-friendly village site in Kent
  • Walking distance from watersports, fishing lakes and off-road cycling
  • Five pubs, tearooms and shop a short walk away; walking trails nearby
From river activities and fishing lakes to off-road cycling and some proper scenic walking trails, Nightingale Camping is a family-friendly wild camping retreat in a scenic Kent village, where three rivers meet - The Medway, Beult and Teise - within walking distance to many outdoor activities. A five-minute walk away from Yalding village centre, you'll be able to jump right into walks, watersports (including canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding), fishing lakes or off-road cycling routes for all ages and abilities. Having welcomed visitors for over 25 years and recently re-opened, this site is a peaceful place for a break (pets welcome too) with portable toilets and drinking water on site. The team on site offer free charging for your gadgets and batteries, and there's also no charge to refreeze ice packs. Nearby there's space in the local area’s fields and woods for kids to let off steam or for dogs to be walked off-lead. Site staff have also planned routes for walkers and cyclists to help you scout out the paths and refreshment stops along the way… and if you get too lost, they can always come and find you. Handily, the site is also close to several splendid Kent vineyards and within an hour’s drive of great wildlife parks and centres. As for the foodies, well, there are many friendly eateries within walking distance – including five pubs, village tearooms on the high street and a handy village store five minutes’ walk away with food, booze and other missing bits from your luggage.

Liked: Never stayed in the end

Disliked: Never went ahead because the place ceased trade. Didn’t get told till I contacted pitch up after I found my money was back in my account with no explanation.
