What customers say

A peaceful, flat grass site with a back-to-basics feel. Welcoming hosts & spotless toilets are highlights. Nearby pubs offer great food. Some note poor phone signal & rough grass, but most loved the relaxation, scenery, & wildlife. Many want to return.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Rien

Disliked En guise de retour à la nature, vous vous retrouverez dans un près au bord de la route avec un seul et unique toilette chimique et un évier. Absolument rien d'autre.

From the manager: Well, as you can see, we did everything right. Clean, welcoming and our site description is accurate. All your lovely reviews say its a lovely basic campsite with no frills.

Yet Pitchup allow a 1 star thats undermines our year long hard work.

1 bedroom on-site trailer

Liked nice little caravan, much better than tenting which we had done in previous years , so no hard work just empty your suitcase ,then you are on holiday, nice not to be queueing for toilets ,showers and washing sink as you have all these in the van plus a 4 burner cooker. nice tidy site ,central to coast east &south. owners were extremely helpful and kind, i can recommend this to any one

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked very nice and quiet

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you very much for taking the time to give this review. We are very pleased that you have enjoyed the cleanliness and our attention to customer service. We note with dissapointment your final score of 7, given the above. The majority of our guests (40% aprox are regulars and 20% of those return several times a year) are attracted by the basic, 'back to nature' theme of our park.

We are not Butlins and I ask anyone reading this review to consider if our type of campsite is right for you. That would save disspointment on both us and the camper, whos enjoyment is so important to us.

A perfect place for The Big Cat Sanctuary!

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Nice flat cut grass field. Plenty of room. Welcoming hosts. 2 pubs with great food and atmosphere just under a mile away. A very friendly Labrador who likes a game, kept me busy! On site loo was spotless and well stocked. We will be back!

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked It was a fabulous site. There was a friendly welcome which is always nice . Its basic and on grass but it has a toilet which was always clean. There is fresh water and grey waste disposal. There is a beautiful pond with so much wildlife in it. Very peaceful place and cant wait to go again. Just lovely to sit and watch nature.

Disliked That we had to come home!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The green and pleasant land.
This other eden...
I could hear Jerusalem playing and found myself remembering Blake's immortal words.
This quiet hideaway campsite is tranquility personified. Nestled in the heart of Kent it gave us the atmospheric relaxation we were looking for...
Ideal for just getting away from it all.
With friendly and helpful owners.
I strongly recommend

Jon M.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked A wonderful, small campsite set in a beautiful location. We camped under the oak tree and were able to do some birdwatching from right outside our tent. We even saw some woodpeckers in the tree directly above us and some bats in the evening.

Facilities basic but perfectly adequate for a few nights and there is a lovely pub with a beautiful garden and a decent menu 10 minutes walk down the road. With no children, it was wonderfully quiet. Owner was friendly and helpful too.

My only fear with praising it so much is that it might be harder to get a pitch in future!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much Jon for your kind and thoughtful recommendation. We are sure that you will find space for your return visit where you will be very welcome.
