  • Peaceful adults-only rural Kent site 10 minutes' drive from Tenterden
  • A 25-minute drive to Rye; several vineyards close by for tours
  • Pétanque court and firepit grates on site; local pub 10 minutes' walk
When you stay at Field End Campsite, you’ll be sharing the space with the chickens and ducks that live here, and just a handful of other guests… but no kids, as this Kent site is an adults-only setup that’s all about letting the grownups have a bit of chillout time. This rural location (about 15 minutes’ drive from Ashford) is a particularly fine spot for a break if you’re into your fishing – there’s a fishery just next door, with a couple more within a 15-minute walk/five-minute drive. Meanwhile, cyclists can pedal along quiet country lanes and there are plenty of places to get out for a walk nearby too (and you’ll be welcome to bring your dog along if they fancy a Kent countryside walk too…) Only planning to walk as far as the pub? That shouldn’t take long, as the nearest one is only about 10 minutes away on foot. There are four more pubs within a five-minute drive if you’d like to mix things up a bit, or you could pick up supplies at the farm shop just outside the local village of Bethersden (five minutes’ drive) and get your barbecue going back at base. There’s also a butcher and grocery shop in the village, with bigger supermarkets over in Tenterden (10 minutes) if you need them. Tenterden also has some lovely cafés and a good range of shops on its high street. Facilities on site include a washing-up area, toilets, showers and a solar-powered shower for those who are brave enough. There's also a pétanque court on site. Each pitch has its own grate, where you're welcome to set up a campfire; logs, kindling and firelighters can be purchased from the site for an additional fee. If you need to freeze ice packs or blocks, ask the team for access to the freezer.

What customers say

This adult-only spot gets praise for its peaceful vibe, cleanliness, and friendly owners. Guests loved the well-kept, spacious pitches with hookups and water, plus extras like free eggs and fire pits. Showers are noted as very clean. Most had no complaints, though a few found shower cubicles open-topped and limited local walks without a car. Highly recommended, with many planning return trips.

Toby powered grass campsite

Liked Everything!! The campsite was excellent. Really friendly owner's and really friendly guests. A lovely stay.

Disliked Nothing to do with the campsite but all of the local footpaths were overgrown and inaccessible. This meant that we had to drive out to give our dog a good walk. We went back yo my childhood haunt at Hothfield Common. Stunning!!

From the manager: Hi to you both, and Jack
Thank you taking the time to leave a fantastic review. If only we had some say over the local footpaths, we would love to walk our dogs too. Glad you found Hothfield Common, it's great isn't it?

Toby powered grass campsite

Liked This beautiful site is clean and quiet and perfect for a few days away from the day to day. There was everything we needed and more from free chicken and duck eggs to a complementary paddling pool for my dog! It was a very hot day and dogs are clearly the VIP’s here. The pig and sty (pub) near by is a nice place to eat and dogs are welcome there too. We loved it here and would’ve loved to have stayed longer.

Disliked Would’ve liked a nice woodland walk near by but this doesn’t detract from the site itself.
